fang island's self titled record

was not their debut. they released an EP and another LP, 'Day Of The Great Leap', before their self titled.

uhhh

didn't this come out like two years ago?

spirit if is brilliant

calling it not strong and then linking to a review giving it 9 out of 10 is not the best way to make a point

damn

my stupidly tall friend is blocking my head in that crowd shot

AIDS RULES!

(not serious)

how

do I get to this house party in sheffield

it sounds awesome

this is wrong

white lies were ace at leeds

so were los campesinos

WOW!

They're coming to GRIMSBY! They can be added to the fantstic list of bands who've recently played gigs in this town:

The Hoosiers
Bring Me The Horizon
Eliott Minor
The Pigeon Detectives

God I wish Fuck Buttons or Rolo Tomassi would come back here instead.

doing?!?!?

more like going

3 Sheffield The Shakespear

don't know where that is but i'm doing

also they had a dancing skeleton

i feel mentioning this is important

this

I was only there to see frYars (who I missed due to my timetable being wrong :( ) but I had nothing to do so I stuck around. I was pretty impressed.

they packed out an 18,000 capacity tent at roskilde

which I wasn't at all expecting

apparently they're huge in scandinavia

It's getting better

We've had Broken Social Scene, Stars, Johnny Foreigner x 3, The Mae Shi, The Most Serene Republic, This Will Destroy You etc in the last few months. Until the Academy opened though there has been a big gap in the market for bands who aren't big enough to play the arena but too big for plug/leadmill/octagon. Now bands won't automatically go and play Manchester instead because they've got the Apollo.

yeah!

about time sheffield started coming up with awesome gigs

(shame i'm at home for summer and seeing them at latitude anyway)

before reading that I was questioning 8/10

because it's totally a 10 out of 10 for me. But then I read the review and I can totally get where the 8/10 is coming from.

So overall rating aside that's a really good review of one of the best British bands around right now.

McFly being unoriginal?

well I never!

that music teacher

is like nostradamus or something

new york always gets the best free gigs :(

last year I saw TV On The Radio in Brooklyn for free and they were putting bands like Annuals and Dan Deacon on for free every week. I mean look at these line ups

http://thepoolparties.com/events.php

all for free. I wish we had stuff like that in England :(

Shit review

don't be lazy

i'd give this 6/10 anyway

If this means Owen Pallett will show up

and maybe play a set on the 'as yet unnamed previously known as the carling stage' earlier on then fuck yeah i'm all for it.

If not then whatever.

uh

i'm speechless

YEAH

THE HOOSIERS ARE COMING TO GRIMSBY AWESOME!!!!!

man why can't Jeniferever or Fuck Buttons come back instead of those tossers?

Four Tet?

Kids won't know what's hit them.

hot damn

time to drag up some of my useless mates from sheffield

oh no D:

i dunno, put it all in a bath or something?

I would think they would freeze it and later use it to impregnate women.

I hope this works because then my mate will be able to afford to go to Roskilde and will pay me for the extra plane ticket I booked for him that he no longer wants (the cunt)

hmm

I don't think they're playing in london enough...

I didn't go

but obviously yes

get a mega drive and streets of rage too!

you know what

even though this is in the easter holidays and I should be back home in Grimsby there is going to be absolutely nothing stopping me coming back for one night to see Johnny Foreigner - for a pound.

And then when i'm actually in Sheffield, The Harley is only 2 minutes away from where I live. Awesome!

they should have put teenage skin on it

best thing they've ever done - even better than pink squares.

????

Amy is the girl who sings, Torquil is the guy!

damn it

fuck you george bush!!!

also

they're playing sheffield at the leadmill on the 23rd!

This is very sad

I wish I went to see them last week :(

with regards to sheffield

the comments are slightly vague! which is the best vegetarian restaurant ever? how did los campesinos find the gig? I thought it was bloody ace and high fived Tom in the process.

you know

they're fucking hilarious live even if they do play the worst music i've ever heard

saddest news all week

seriously
