Everything is just borrowed
is fantastic.
Sad video as well but it's lovely at the same time, they look liked a happy family!
Thanks for the tip
This lot are ace!
SOund like avalanches mixed with arcade fire.
Fantastic
band both live and on record. Hopefully more to come in the future! good luck with other projects.
interesting
ATQM is probably one of my most loved albums of the last few years. I've given this new one a few listens and it hasn't got me yet.
I will pesevere.
On first impressions there doesn't seem to be those really outstandingly passionate melodies that hooked me onto their earlier stuff.
I'll see if time will unravel the greatness of this one.
Nice review
Well tied together and fun to read...
I thought he
came across well. Not a huge fan of their music but they're good at what they do.
The interviewing style comes across as agressive, snide, pompous and chidlish.
Nothing wrong with asking people tough questions, but trying to humiliate them is pretty pathetic, especially when he's the one who tours succesfully with his band and records with Butch Vig when you(i presume) just write about music!
That
track on the video up there is lovely.

Very Well
written review...
They nicked the
chanty bit from:
'The grand old duke of york
he had ten thousand men
He marched them up to the top of the hill
and marched them back again"
Cheeky.
Good tune this la
mhmmm
Great song
And i think the vocals are great. Pretty unique really, and i don't get the editors comparison at all.It sounds pretty euphoric to me, especially when you see it live.
To be fair though
Babyshambles 'writing a song' is a bit different to arcade fire 'writing a song'
In relation to finishing ideas and arranging things properly i mean.
Harsh review...
very melodic tune and full of energy.
Give 'em a chance they're a new band.
haha do you think he does
that to everything he says?
singer:
"i'm going for a piss"
shouty man
" i-m go-in for a pi-ss!!!"
well...
I like this band muchly, excellent live, pretty amazing voice. As someone said the b-sides are brilliant as well which is always a good sign.
I like the title "smokers outside the hospital doors"
This album could either see them become move upwards into weirder territory and move away from the post-punk sound of the first album , or sound like coldpay-lite crap designed to shift millions of units.
Lets hope its the former.
Yeah they sound a lot like interpol, who gives a fuck, i like interpol as well, my life can handle both bands....
well...
I like this review...its skillfully written and an enjoyable read, very honest too.
Excellent Live
I thought they were average, then saw them live and saw the level of devotion they inspire(about 1000 people singing every word louder than the singer) and thought they must have something special.
Having given the album more time i now really like them.
it stands for
Indian Pale Ale
yep....
Most Excellent
Thanks for a diverse and interesting selection of tunes, some stuff i knew, some stuff i didn't but now like a lot such as NMS,
Jeniferver and Forward Russia. DIS consistently gets me into great new bands and deserve a lot of credit. You're obviously as passionate about the songs as a lot of people who read and contribute to the site.
one criticism: i think its colin who does the australian inflection thing at the end of a sentance. Make confident statements, no need to ask questions to your audience.
easy target
Thats bollocks, the strokes write great songs, simple as that. "Arty music for people who don't like art" - i don't think thats fair, they're a band not a fucking paiting.
Rolling Stones gather moss but ready world tour
The rolling stones are an emarassing cliched pile of turd wank.
'...Emergency'! Antihero album, single details & gig dates
Re: The Others - Lackey
Basically the music is mediocre mid-nineties britpop, which should be fucking consigned to the eternal bin of the past, the lyrics are embarrasingly cliched, and his voice is fucking atrocious. He's in a band, bands play music, if you are getting paid to do it, you should at least be good. Theres fucking hundreds of amazing unsigned bands around the country who dont get signed because they don't spout shit in interviews which wankers like mcgee who are obssessed with the whole rock and roll myth lap up.
They, and any other hype band, can fuck off.

Thats why i realise INME are shite.

Isn't this melody/lyric
directly ripped from "All My Friends" by LCD Soundsystem? That first line is almost identical!
