Why there is an backlash against Puzzle, which despite not being as manic as the previous 3 albums, is an absolutely incredible bit of song writing and a wonderful crossover into pop for what has always been a largely experimental band?

I find biffy closer to Faith No More than Foo Fighters (how the hell do they sound like the Foos?) for their ethic, progression and crossover of styles.

Puzzle has been on loop for weeks, for me at least.

i would have thought a more valid reason would be that the Long Blondes simply aren't everything they're hyped up to be. I find them vacant, lacking in bite, and void of any songs which will actually stand the test of time.

Everyknow with a brain knows they're fantastic musicians, there's no doubt about it, everyone knows that they can pen a tune, but they can't pen any sort of progression, or create tunes which truly envelop you in every single way. LOTS OF NOISE AND EPIC SOUNDS does not make an overall epic band. It just helps on the way.
