If you like Rufus Waignwright, Jeff Buckley, Otis Redding... you need this album.

Don’t Believe The Truth is a brilliantly packaged affair. In fact, the packaging is the only thing that stands out on this album. The eleven songs that make up Don’t Believe The Truth offer nothing new from the Gallagher Brothers and co... it’s tired, weak, dull, predictable and instantly forgettable. Even the addition of a bonus DVD can’t save this album from being anything other than poor.

This album is awesome... i can't stop playing it!

this album is awesome!

Everyone needs to listen to this album... Saul's voice is... WOW!

Firstly, i'd like to point out that I think Drowned in Sound is one of the finest music websites in the world! It's the only online music site I come to for news, reviews and views (apart from amplifeye.com)... it's made by people who love music, it has some of the best writers and I love it... i won't go on anymore, in case I get accused or arse licking or something!

1) I'm not a "closed-minded band groupie" - I never have and never will be a groupie of any band/artist... but hey I am passionate about music and the music that I love... didn't realise that was a crime!

and if you look at all the music I like on my profile, I don't think anyone could call me close minded... I like every kind of music, from rock/indie/punk/metal to soul/jazz/blues/classical and so on...

2) I didn't put up four posts about how terrible the review was. After reading it, I posted twice - saying how I didn't agree with the review and that I thought it was a great album and so on. I then decided to check out some other online reviews of the album and posted links to them up here, so people could take a look at what other people think about the album... is that so wrong?

3) I did NOT call DiS closed minded, like I've already said, DiS is one of my favourite websites and now labels as well. I did write that I thought the reviewer wasn't very open-minded when it came to this record, but that was a rather harsh and was mainly down to the fact that I'd just read two 'very negative' reviews of this album (one in the NME and the one above) and I loved it. Although I expected such a review in the NME, i was shocked to see a negative review on DiS, but I do apologise Mr Driver, I know you're not closed-minded... but I do feel very passionate about this album and band.

Working in the music and media industry myself, I see great bands like this come and go all the time... so when I like something I speak up and hope that what I say encourages other people to have a look/listen themselves!

I love I Am Kloot, but must admit that this new album is a bit of a let down...

that's probably becuase album's one 'Natural History' (Buy Buy Buy) and two 'I Am Kloot' were quite simply stunning?

But I thought I was going to love it and I don't.

Maybe it will grow on me?

Just to let you know that support @ The Phoenix in Plymouth on Thursday March 24th comes in the form of The Bedroom Project & Quarantine.

One of the UK's finest punk rock bands, The Bedroom Project played a storming gig at The Phoenix last month to launch their debut album, 'New Promises Won't Change Things If Your Dreams Were Stolen From Films'. I've not heard the album yet, but these guys are quite simply stunning live.

Quarantine are an exhilarating post hardcore punk band from Ivybridge/Plymouth, fresh from a stunning album launch gig of their own. Not heard the album yet, but they're ace live.

King Adora are a great live band...

never seen Halo live, so can't comment... but one or two of the bands songs were ok!!!

and as for Kasabian... so much hype and the album is average at best... they have made a few stunning songs... but the album on the whole, is dull!!!!

Pilots was one of the best albums of 2003 (and last year was a Very Strong year for albums) and although the name was a bit shit, the band were fucking brilliant!!!

I've never really been into Green Day b4, but 'American Idiot' is fucking brilliant!!!

... and i thought DiS would have given it a much better rating than 3/5, its got to be worth at least a 4/5!!!

I may have to check out some of the bands earlier records (in case i overlooked some good stuff), seeing how good American Idiot is... as its the only Green Day album i own at the mo.

and as for Nirvana... most def one of the most over-rated bands of all time!!! problem is, they're also one of the most influential :-0

I like some of Elephant Man's music, but if he isn't man enough to apologise for using homophobic lyrics in some of his songs, I'm glad he's been removed.

People live for music down this way, yet rarely get a chance to see so many of the great new bands, as they rarely venture south of Bristol/Cardiff!

But much respect to those bands who do/have played down this way lots or that have dates booked soon - including Reuben, Ash, Hundred Reasons, Hell is for Heroes, Feeder, Biffy Clyro, Million Dead, thisGIRL, A, Amplifier, Terrorvision, Katastrophy Wife, Fun Lovin Criminals, Reef and Haven.

Kid Rock and Bush both Suck big time... the perfect match?!!!

This album is Awesome... it really is... and i know 2004 has already given us some mighty fine records... making 2004 one of the best years for albums of all time... and live music in general for that matter!!! but this really is a Very Strong contender for Album of the Year.

I actually give this album 5/5, 10/10, 100/100... i know that's a lot praise... but shit... this album and band deserve it...!!! Everyone should own a copy of this album (and the bands debut EP from last year for that matter)... if you don't already... go out and buy one now!!!

TV On The Radio are true innovators... add to that the fact that they look extremely funky and are 100% unique... i mean you really can't get much better!!!
