Yeah REM
Should just stop, as should their fans, and Oasis and the Stones and the Beatles and the Police etc etc, ad infinitum...
IMO Duffy is mince
Kinda like Sean Kingston.
She will do well as poeple tend to like the same old guff endlessly regurgitated, blah blah blah, radio 2, blah blah, Winehouse, blah, I'm almost putting myself to sleep.
I am just so dulled out by retro retro retro. I guess I shall have to hide in a cave to avoid it.
Retro is perenial. I am not.
Shazbut!
Hype
and publicite, we can ignore that an listen to the music if we like it.
There are lists and lists from web forums and print articles, telling whoever cares to read, what's hot.
It all comes down to taste, yada yada.
It does get extremely predictable if you listen to National digi radio as these artists get pumped on heavy rotation.
As I am a member of the public it's difficult to see how the internal mechanics of the music business work. But I can hazzard a guess that there must be a finite amount of people who work in record companies/radio/telly. They all know each other and are pals so they promote/get into each others stuff.
It's just business for most of these bods, and pretty dull for the rest of us.
She's
Bloody well right
Not the best
I've heard from either person.
They should have a go at Ebony and Ivory.
But i really think there is a future for them as a light enertaintment act, singing and comedy. They could have a show called Cocker & Ditto's Laugh In, where they would feature as hosts and be surrounded by an adaptable ensamble cast, made up of
Christopher Ecclestone (being funny and not all northern, I should clarify, actualy playing the part and not his character)
Steve Martin (on the wain but could do with the experience)
Tracy from corrie
Bradly Walsh
Faith Brown
Some of S club 7
And some kind of flamboyant homosexual
It would be a laugh/riot.
It should be on a Wednesday night at 7pm BBC1 or ITV. I'd prefer the beeb as ITV is shite.
Inevitable
Jacko's broke (well not really, he continues to breath rarefied air and spend lots of cash) he needs the cash.
Sony got his Part of ATP Publishing cause he owed them cash. What an arsehole.
The shows will be shite and extremely popular.
I liked the jacksons then, but now, I'd rather have All Saints.
Kiedis
Is a gold plated anus.
I read a book about the chilli peppers and it seems they are just a bunch of recovering drug addicted whiners.
It said that they kept falling out over drugs and that they only started being a band proper 10 years ago.
That'll explian why they got more popular.
He's 44, fuck! They really should have split up by now. Who do they think they are U2?
I like some of thier songs, they should do summit diffrent, maybe some ragtime or pehaps... ah bolloks whats the point, I wish they would stop. Now!
Sounds good to me
I'd love to go to this and see a shed load of bands.
Being a new band it must be hard work considering there are so many performers there.
If a label wanted to send me I'd go in a jiffy!
Dirge
I wanna like them but I here the music and then I retire into a comfortable chair for my pipe and slippers.
I just don't get it. The video did look amusing but when i heard the song it was like, ah, right, ok. Not my bag.
But the kids love this stuff a whole heck of a lot and I can't figure out why.
The production is unbelievable, it's so shrill. It'll sound loud on any old tin pot. Listening to an album of that would be quite challenging.
I'm trying, god love me i'm trying.

When you hit 30 - 40
Things change, I am no longer able to just absorb new music as I've had my fill and all the new stuff appears old, only due to the fact that I've listend to so much msuic.
So I guess the journos that write these peices are just writing about what they know.
I can add a few non punk names to the list of bands I could well do without hearing from ever again (Rolling Stones).
All this music is recent history, the music industry is recent history. All we can hope for is that the bands die and the fans die.
But what will we be left with? It's all cyclical so don't get too bothered by these bands and journos, it's good to have a rant though and I dig yours.
