bloody hell
what did he die of?
Why?
Alopecia.
i
need more music by this band
hmm
Has anyone ever got a bad word to say about this band?
argh
i should have been at this!
LM's band
best band ever.
..
she was a tv presenter once, right? I always think her albums are 'so so' and don't see the point in it, but fair play to her, still bringing in the shows innit.
I hear you
but think it's better parts outdo it's lesser parts.. A good 7 for sure, they're truly marvelous in places.
aye
and what a line-up that is! Seriously ace. Enjoy!
Hoosiers
What about The Hoosiers?
heh
smoke and mirrors innit? It's like Babyshambles doing Wembley and putting tickets on sale about 8 months prior..You have to aim high, right?
Bristol is 14th
@ Louisiana..
yes!
i was there...outrageously good they was..!
Superb!
I really underestimate how could Why? is. I loved Elephant Eyelash, but then it languished in the record collection...So this is just magic.
The MySpace has an awesome rendition of Come to Me by The Cure too...www.myspace.com/whyanticon
London ticket in the bag!
oh
myspace.com/whyanticon
yes!
that cover is truly amazing!
i think
Serena Maneesh, Lionheart Brothers and 120 Days should do a tour of the UK together.
ha
she used to work at Lock Tavern in Camden. She'll presumably return to her roots shortly, then?
yeah
always been great when I've caught them over here. Winner.
yah
splendid record f'sure
ha
i really need to get along to this next year. amusing write-up chaps..
Aye
Looks awesome. I can think of nowhere I'd rather be than a festival in Norway with all those Bergen treats lined up to play. Have fun!
i think
it's an ace tune.
Aren't they playlisted?
I don't think the producer of one show has quite the sway to give them loads of airplay...
ya
wolf parade, handsome furs, besnard lakes, etc.
verging on
percy pig or whatever?
Hmm
I was quite disappointed with this too. I prefer the previous singles, but not dismissing them just yet..
Heh
"carried the bust back towards the stage, and smashed it into a hundred pieces onto the crowded dance floor."
Plenty of space then...
ah
they did one of my fav lyrics ever:
"don't go into the kitchen. That's where the knives are..."
I think he was probably gouging his eyes out as he sung it, and thus it never fails to make me laugh.
yes
Best band of the night..
hmm
surely it's '07?
one for you all...
I really think you guys will all be raving about WINDMILL very shortly. His album drops in March and it's got that euphoric layering of sound that people commend Arcade Fire for, with a gorgeously fragile/deranged vocal. Amazing.
some tips
Real Ones - Lovely, folky Bergen pop
Findlay Brown - Great singer-songwriter
Laura Marling - Jamie T's lass? Great voice
Shady Bard - Great ephemeral tunes
Windmill - It'll be one of your album's of the year!
Pilote - He's back, great lo-fi tracks akin to Ivor Cutler
Answering Machine - New skinny boy heroes..
hmmm
The album starts really well and then goes to pot towards the end. Shame
hmm
probably Jarvis.
Totally
I saw them at Luminaire and then again at Old Blue Last, last night. Both mesmerising shows, love them to pieces.
haha
Ridiculous. Here's an average band, throw loads of money at them and see what happens...Nothing..right that's it then sod this, we're over. All the wrong reasons. Nobody connected with them at all, really what was the point? 'Meh' says the music world.
Good stuff
Looking forward to the Ever Records night on Wednesday too...
yes
At the Metro they were slightly disappointing, but it felt much stronger at The Forum
uh?
Why is he 'clearly a twat'?
Get on it Diver
If you like Cortney Tidwell (which you do), you'll find Sol Seppy shares an affinity with her. Touches of Bjork, Mazzy Star etc. Her album is beautiful, look forward to hearing the mini-album.
I think she used to be in, or play live with Sparklehorse, but always get her history mixed up with Joan As Policewoman. I know that Joan sings with Anthony & The Johnsons..
Touriste
I like both of these songs. Athlete is a painful comparison, but I guess they both share in those big, hearty singalongs. However, I hate Athlete.
Agree that this lot are likely to be huge.
Majesty
Great, great EP (with a lovely video) - Boomkat were raving about it so I entered them blind and seriously glad I bothered. Didn't someone mention on the board that all French music is rubbish? Give these guys a whirl, the album promises to be ace.
Rubbish
TRO can sing, and so it would seem can the drummer now too.
Nice work
Good tune, and looking forward to the follow up. I think it's great to see a band that can actually move on with their work rather than carry on and fall apart ala The Thrills. Keane aren't rubbish, but it's taken this long for people to take them as a serious band.
Interesting to see DiS review them live when they still had a guitarist back in 2001!
Hope it knocks Barkley off number 1 too...
haha
"We might be entering the Chinese Year of the Dog, but as far as the Music Industry is concerned 2006 is very much the 'Year of the Monkey' ..."
how long did he sit thinking up that little gem..?
Jeniferver
I got "Choose A Bright Morning" yesterday...very nice
yo name..

What's happened to Feel The Tide Turning?
If you could tour one country in the world out of choice, what would it be?
Is banjo the new black?
