Yep
Same for the Go! Team's 'Ladyflash' in my list - released as a single in '04 and '06.
Saw these after missing Au Revoir Simone
who went onstage at like 6:45! We Are Scientists bore me so I trundled off to this.
Had me rooted to the spot, apart from the 2 times I went to the bar. And the time I went to the toilet. But apart from that, rooted to the spot throughout.
Mr Soulboy
I thrive on girl bands - I love the sensuality of their music, their style, their harmonies and, yes, the way they look onstage (but then, this is a LIVE review so what the hell do you expect?)..
What, you want me to completely dismiss their 'cuteness' and choreographed stage moves to focus entirely on their music? When in actual fact their stage show has more involvement with their music than a shiny round disc ever could?
Guess this is a band ppl either love or hate.
this band are still going?
deary me
this is correct
word.
Just heard these
on a Rough Trade comp - and proceeded to play the track on repeat for about 15 minutes. That's before I knew anything about them - scarily good 'band' for their age.
awesome band
But I think Shaun has got a bit sick of the Murder Of references now.
I met Coolio once
or rather, walked past him in Cannes. He had this most peculiar limp, and wore really dark sunglasses, even though it was that late and dark even I could barely see.
in my opinion
Lockers seem to be the only real solution here. That and additional security info sent out with tickets advising ppl not to bring valuables to a festival. I'm sure we can all live without our ipods and portable stereo for the weekend. It seems obvious but these things still go missing.
One tip is to dig a little hole in the ground before you put up your tent. You then stick your valuables in there when you go into the arena, and roll the grass back over it.
Another thing is that when I was at Glastonbury a few years back there were a large group of Welsh ticket touts camped nearby who methodically went through every single tent in the field, even nicking my friend's trainers when he was asleep in his tent! It took a 17 yr old girl armed with a knife to get that and her "motherfucking" vodka back. But yeah, basically, there are ppl who go purely to harvest whatever they can lay their hands on.
Satisfaction is the Death of Desire
Nuff said really.
Actually
The guys in Montana are very well known in the Birmingham - Coventry - Hinckley hardcore circles, with various band members in about 25 other bands cvoering just about every conceivable hc style. I think even Maniac Beast were planning on putting out an EP at one point.
I havenæt heard this so I cant comment but those guys are without some seriously talented dudes.
Oh yeah, they also put on gigs in Coventry on an almost weekly basis at places like the jailhouse so can probably take the credit for keeping alive the hc scene there.
Y know what
Victory probably has spent a shedload of money on them through expensive tour buses, advertising, marketing and expensive record studios for a few months at a time.
And while the end total of this probably comes nowhere near the amount they actually earnt through 1.2 million album sales it's also their responsibility to keep up to date with their finances. In the UK artists are entitled to a minimum of 7.5 % of album revenue before any money is recouped. Their publishers should be able to advise them on similar American laws.
Did they not sit down with Tony and go through their contract? Did they not set a limit on marketing budgets?
Mind you, I thought it was common knowledge that Brummel was a cunt.
Also
Having read that article again, I'm convinced Diver is turning into Pete Griffin.
My friend
...lived next door to Jarvis Cocker. I came outside one Saturday morning and saw him on his way back from the corner shop in his dressing gown and slippers with a paper under his arm. Twas quite amusing.
Negative Approach??
That can't be right!
crow
clever how you managed to cross Paris Hilton with a crow in that photo.
Theres
a mental hospital in Shrewsbury called Shelton, thus making it forever semantically linked to the mentally cuckoo.
Hm
we can but hope!

Re: Airhammer - Sword of Fire
Gen, this album really took me by surprise! It's not wacky in a 'look at us we're CRAZY and silly' kinda way - this guy seriously knows how to write a song, lyrically and musically. I wouldnt get too close to him at a gig tho!

Ilosaarirock: DiS mixes with the metallers in Finland
Can I also just add that a surprising amount of festivals on the mainland are run solely by volunteers, even down to the sound engineers! And the atmosphere quite rightly is exactly what a festival should have.

Re: Rupert Murdoch buys Myspace
In the new window, clip off the end from 'gif' onwards and then it'll work!
Rupert Murdoch buys Myspace
Think about it - you're in a band - with this site you get a page (FOR FREE) that in effect is an advert for your band and your music. As soon as someone clicks on your page an MP3 starts up. All necessary info is on 1 page while the user listens to the track.
You can also keep in touch with all your fans through ONE website, very fucking easily through that bulletin board. ACE!
Ok, so most of the people on there are morons but hey, you've got a profile haven't you?

Re: Pink Floyd say no to $150m US tour
So, on pay-day four months down the line, when most of the public and record companies and artists have forgotten about Live 8, they're expected to just hand over vast amounts of their income?

What a strange question.. are you implying most other towns have an aim or purpose?
Re: 'Stop. Collaborate and listen...'
The Butter Market is legendary - Mixmag have rated it one of their favourite venues in the country - Scruff, Fingathing, Scratch Perverts etc... play/dj there regularly!
Seriously.. it's a wicked place, but this gig is gonna be so funny!
Dugong - Quick To The City
Ah well... not a bad cd.
Re: The Dillinger Escape Plan
Saw em in Gent, Belgium and they looked so worn-out! Still... wish I could've made this show too.

Superb live band
And yes - Brett Netson was a saviour during the awkward silence between songs - especially at the Schorndorf show in Germany where he left the otherwise stone cold crowd in stitches. In fact, all he had to do when one song finished was stare vacantly at the crowd with his cigarette in his hand to make everyone smile.
Again, an awesome band.
