Disagree entirely
I can't really see how it sounds contrived at all, especially seeing as it really isn't the departure from the previous album that many people have made it out to be.
Jesse Lacey
Not Delaney. But I guess you know that 'cos it's in the article.
I love Jesse Lacey so much that I'd probably be exactly the sort of person he'd hate. Daisy is fucking fantastic too.
^
I only managed to get a copy of 'The White Birch' through an Amazon seller
Sean
Do you own shares in Twitter? Or does Twitter owns shares in you?
I knew I'd get a dickish, pseudo-aggressive reply
My point was, rather harmlessly, that these guys have been tipped by various online zines for the past 2 years. It wasn't an attack.
I think I first saw these guys play mid-2007
Bit late with the tippage.
I got bored but the statement
"It means that due to file-sharing via P2P, blogs, IM-ing, YouSendit/Rapidshare-ing zip files, CDR's, hard-drive swapping, etc. the record industry is only making 5% of the money it could potentially be making" is incorrect.
Let's all argue about what makes a 'real' fan.
I reckon they've got to have at least, um let's say 4, club-related tattoos
1.5 is the earliest I remember
and I HATED the change to Ver. 2 at the time
Anything off the Cats In Paris album
and most recent Maps & Atlases EP
What do you mean
"have" to get back in? For their sake or for America?
I have a download code for this
that I haven't redeemed yet. I shall have to dig it out
Oh God, neither will I
If that single with the robots in the video hadn't happened, I'd be more robust in my liking
I still like Bloc Party
so I'm going to pre-order this, even though I haven't heard 'Mercury'
Yeah
I think my face being bitten by a dog is the reason Gareth has been a misery guts every time I've seen LC!
I'm not being negative
I'd presume that on the morning of every occassion I've seen LC! live, Gareth has got out of bed on the wrong side.
I want to be excited
but Gareth has pissed me off every time I've seen LC! live
Oooh, tempting
but I cannae afford it until next Friday.
I thought they were alright on Monday
But only alright
There is plenty of evidence to suggest otherwise
and that is really besides the point
How can he be "wrong"?
You've mentioned before that many of the core staffers don't like post-rock, and you love it. I struggle to believe you've marked down reviews of bands like Yndi Halda or This Will Destroy You because of that
Maybe the reviewer would put this alongside
the last albums from Modest Mouse and Les Savy Fav? Surely that difference of opinion is why you don't have just one person doing all the reviews.
You are editor Mike, so essentially can do what you want. But your argument doesn't really stand up.
^ This
Otherwise, only the site editor should write reviews
I'd say Foals stand out
as being the hype band who didn't deliver
FAO GUNTRIP:
CAN SHUCKS, PIECES, LLB AND I DJ BETWEEN BANDS, PLAYING ONLY LIMP BIZKIT SONGS?
On the plus side
This is good news for klaire, isn't it?
I've listened to it plenty
It just all sounds really flat and two-dimensional. It probably sounds better live.
'I Want You To Know...'
is the easily the worst album I've bought this year, which makes me quite sad. I was soooo looking forward to it.
Something about this review doesn't sit well with me
It reads very much like "Young people make young people music that I'm not keen on but I don't want the young people to be angry at me so I'll say its alright".
Fair bit of criticim of this feature again
All I will say is that I completely understand the idea behind DiSband, but I still don't like it.
I'd box
THE END OF DOOM
"It's not subversive to like these guys, people; it's just silly."
A really dumb sentence that ruins an otherwise great review
Yeah
but now we can be all indie-smug-cool like
Only about £8
£10ish with booking fee and postage. Annoying, but not massively harsh
Yup I've just checked and pre-ordered
Feel slightly less guilty about downloading the leak now.
Oi!
I paid the full price and booking fee for tickets for tomorrow!
Is the album up for pre-order anywhere yet? It is AMAZING
