Whatever

Why do bands have to be seen to be reinventing themselves with every album, and why is occuping one kind of musical identity a bad thing? For me this band have moved away from the bland, trite overproduced nature of the second album to rediscover what made the first album great. I don't understand how people can dismiss this for being uninventive when its so consistently good, has such great, driving vocals and has amazing choruses. One can't you just talk about the album rather than trying to place it in a grand scheme that has no bearing on this particular listening experience

Why is it that the Daily Mail get so much hate?

The Daily Express is basically the same thing, but alot worse and alot more desperate. It's borderline racist. So why do people always go after the mail, there's clearly a more obvious target!

That 3/10 seems unsupported

This is interesting enough, but you hardly talk about why its that bad. Just a single paragraph about the music, which feels tacked on.

'Thieving cads posing as fake policemen'

I'd of thought posing as real policemen would be more effective, but hey, obviously not!

Good

He deserves it, I don't think theres really anything better on at the time of day.

(gets ready for backlash)

I really like the Subways

But it seems like ths interview goes out of its way to make him sound like a knob. Like at the end where its like 'right, I'm going, no, leave me alone'.

Or I suppose you could see it as an attempt to present the interview as it happened, not dressing it up...damn I'm confusing myself!

At least

4 great singles this week, shame they're the kind of thing that only gets played on 6 music

Obama loves the wire!?

Screw his policies, if I was American he'd get my vote purely for this. Come on Democracy...

These New Puritans

don't look like they're going to go anywhere to me, their music is just too into itself to have any real potential commercially or otherwise. I think the most impressive around at the moment is Laura Marling, although impossible to tell if she has any staying power; out of this lot I'd probably go with foals or klaxons

Woah...

This article is excellent, perfectly sums up the problems with magazines like Q who constantly recycle material and then insult the reader by presenting it as new/exciting/important/relevant( the Led Zeppelin feature being a perfect example).

As for all the comments about this being an insulting article or 'nasty writing', you should stop taking yourself so seriously. It's irritating when people use these message boards for self-aggrandising moralising. Do you really think that a writer would include comments like that without being just a little bit tongue-in-cheek?

Not really anything to do with the story, but...

The Wire rocks!!!!!......!!!!!

Stroke of genius

Probably the most effective way of undercutting yes_'s stupid, self-important rant about the kate nash interview.

Ver' amusing

i also saw them live

Supporting Forward Russia, and it was the most embarassing thing i've ever seen: the obviously drugged up singer trying to crowd surf, the crowd just dropping him on the floor, and then him proceeding to have a fit just metres away; and the guy who kept having his instrument detuned when he stuck it out above the audience. Pretty damn awful.
