They play at the Star of Bethnal Green
(formerly the Pleasure Unit) on May 14th with Magic Wands. It promises to be tremendous.
very interesting band
and a hell of a lot of fun live.
I inadvertently stalked Sam
for around 3 months last year. Just kept randomly bumping into him at gigs, festivals, bars for wankers etc.In the main, it was a wholly unremarkable episode... which I guess says it all..
Without reinventing
the wheel, I think this is one pretty special album. Ill Love makes the world an infinitely better place. Fantastic to see genuine indie (both band and label) not being schmindie.
Both bands
were tremendous. I think Pirates are better on record than they are live, but they're much improved from last year.
Stool Pigeon's
interview with Foals was maybe on par.. But that's just nitpicking. Great read.
The Ides
is lovelY
piss
the Borderline does indeed reek of it post smoking ban. You called that right Patrick Watson!
they were
very, very good I thought. The more I listen to album, the more I realise just how special this lots are. Tingle.
Jack off!
I've heard it twice and think it's a blinder.
There are so few bands (historically) that can be 'one of the biggest bands in the world', whilst consistantly making such brilliant records.
History will judge them kindly and they should be cherished.
agreed
great band who were on top form at Spitz (RIP). I think Julien's offhandishness is just him being very, very dry.
How old
are they?
I think you're right
about Patrick Watson on vocal duties. His album's beautiful www.patrickwatson.net
I am the biggest
bum lover of JK... I thought this event was a bit iffy. My main objection was not so much the price of a bootle of water, but that they'd open the bottle and not let you have the lid. Wankers.
This is most
exciting news. Where does one purchase tickets for Hammersmith Working Mens Club?
Wrong
Martbowski. So very wrong.
Sir,
I'm with you on the Lemonheads. We had a shitter of a journey, parked up at 7.10 & pegged it across just as Big Gay Heart began.. Beautiful. Saul Williams and Field Music were also quite superb. And it would seem rude not to mention the trees at Latitude. The trees were AMAZING!
and
cider.. much cider :)
Lemonheads
Can't wait!
London scenester nothingness..
It rolls off the tounge rather nicely but doesn't seem entirely accurate being as Rumble Strips are from Devon. As for the scenester reference.. I'm just just trying to think of all those other 'London scenester' bands playing with trumpet, sax and accoustic guitar...
I love everything
about this band. Saxaphones give me the horn.
The Guardian
called them 'Aussie Osbourne'. I wish I'd thought of that.
Napoleon the Turd
Killed my goldfish
The riff
from 'Mum's Gone To Iceland' gets lodged in my head for hours sometimes. Most unpleasant...
Elaine
is lovely. It reminds me of Super Furries at their absolute ruddy, bloody best. Top review Dom.
The NME is totally
queer. I didn't used to like The Young Knives (thought it all a bit shouty) but think they're great these days. Poptastic even!
Re: The Pipettes' Dirty Mind: new single scheduled
Beans On Toast were good though.
Re: The Research - C'Mon Chameleon / I Love You, But...
The Research - She's Not Leaving
A band with such brilliant songs & effortless cool must surely be destined for great things....
PS. I'm liking Russell's TMHT bag!!
The Tailors - Demo
Anyone know when they're playing next or if the demo's available?

Micachu
is a little genius. I love her too!
