I agree
with the above.
Brought up with him popping the odd goal.
I think Mr.Bloc Party
is alienating any potential fanbase.
You have people growing up with Oasis being one of their influences and reasonings to listen to music.
I tell you he's alienated me with his views on the working class. He's been very ignorant and taken every person of the working class as a die-hard Oasis fan. Who does he think he is? Tony Benn?!? Ben Elton?? Elton John?!? John McClane?!? Who is he to become a society breaker.
He references drugs, almost over-riding his view.
He reacted to a silly little playground thing and makes some sweeping statement. He failed to look beyond Liam Gallacher, who most of the working classes would describe has a prick. He think he forgot Noel Gallacher, generally makes valid, strong statements with some evidence behind them, although they are often a simplistic statement.
He's almost a hypocrite in that he writes about this 'orrible country and the society he lives in. Yet saying 'Everyone I know likes Cocaine' means he has some acceptation of it all, he's quite fine in his life. He's believed his own hype.
He's gone down in my estimation and I suppose in many others.
I find the chap's
rather annoying. Although in principle I like them.
I got there and then heard it was £19.50
Told them to feck off! Absolute ripoff. Someone is gaining a lot of money. Strange it's Leic Uni elections tomorrow.
??
Really??
In my opinion, a 8.
He'll get better with age.
Whether it holds up as a classic is another thing. Forget his voice, in songwriter terms he's best thing out of the South.
Some people are
oh so fashionable on here.
I am confident it will be a superb record.
Just listening this is surprisingly good
but just dont take it too serious and expect some deep shit.
I am going Doncaster soon
to visit the Keepmoat Stadium.
This album will gain great critical press
but miss popularity. Becoming a cult classic within 10 years.
Having heard the album,
the producer does a great job.
On the 'rave' thing,
James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco fame is producing it.
I want this!!!!!!!!!!!!
Record Of January IMO.
I e-mailed Fopp yday
To ask whether they are opening a store in Leicester.
The answer was 'on their radar'
These dumbasses make me smile
Their first album which was credible was all about how people set their hearts on being a celebrity and how the media 'make or break's' you. The lonely existence of living in London and all this stuff about enjoying life whilst in a normal life of 9-5.
Then they make an album of twaddle mostly containing tributes to Ska and covers which are ripped apart.
Then, he goes on Big Brother after declaring a hatred for media on an album previously, marries the normal person off BB like a statement, sells it to OK Magazine.
Then when someone points out to him that he's just another z-list whose non-entity of a wife writes a book about a life and becoming London Travelodge, he has the fecking hump and then decides to spawn this awful wankstain upon us.
Poor buggers are going
to be swamped and cast aside when Klaxons, The View and Jamie T release albums in the two weeks of their album.
Should of released it a week earlier and gained a head start.
When I seen him at SSW
Very humble and quite shock with a big crowd in a small tent. His voice does not sound like that.
No, it reference to Jamie T
which is he, he will mature and has far more lifespan. The comparison to Lily Allen are lazy, for starters he plays an instrument, such a short-sighted view that if someone comes from a particular place, they are the same.
He writes songs which are relevant to our times with a lot more gusto than most. He's a character whose more like to produce stuff from norm.
Amstell Is A Hero!!!
Although, Lamarr is better. He's a good enough replacement.
First Album
was one of the most innoviate of last year.
Wanker^
...
Why read such a message
into having a big gig in June...its a money maker with a 2nd album on the way. I am not at all sceptical about the Arctic Monkeys, they hate the press.
Same here
My brother wants to go see them and I am educating him. Began listening to Modest Mouse last night. But this gig would be too much of a feck-up for his first. First of all, you can hardly see the band and then you have twats vomitting around you.
Oh dare they!!!
The Clash are the best British ever!!
The first album
had nice short song titles.
Second one big titles.
Question
If the Indie bubble is about to burst and pop seems not to hint at any revival?
What direction will the Music Chart go next?!?!
Total bollocks....
NME once again will only publicise bands they advertise....
Dumb feckers...real dumb feckers...
You have to be fecking dumb to do a 'Cool' List, I couldnt be bothered if any fecker was cool as along as they make good music, they could be the most uncool bastards ever.
Leicester!
Leicester! Leicester! Leicester!
We love ya Leicester we do, o Leicester we love you!
LEI-C-E-S-TER , Leicester are the best
A band which got many
people into music. Cant knock for that all that. Despite all the bravado, Noel Gallacher is a very spot on guy, read his interviews of new and its none of this sell-records bollox.
The Masterplan is Oasis's under-rated album, songwriting on there is cracking.
Yes Very!!
The music they are creating has happily been done a few years back.
What a claim
Most Waited (cant spell Ant...) Album since Radiohead's double header. That kind of statement makes the review seem a tad dubious.
I expect these sweeping statements in Q or NME not DiS
No word
on his once spoken about Acoustic mirror release.
I cant believe people
react like this to what is obiviosly a ploy to get talking about The Killers in ready for their new coming album.
Fell for it hook, line and sinker.
Killers new single is a guilty pleasure of mine.
She has credibility
she makes decent music, no need for her to have a big mouth to sell some more records.
No flippin Leicester!!
I cant wait to pass my driving test
Anyone tasted the apple flavour
of Lucozade? Its crap
I burnt my arse
on bidet, I got the taps mixed up as I was abroad, needs to say I blistered.
Really?
Is it April Fool's Day today?
Very good review
of a decent gig in my home town.
...
Shit taste in music? Regardless of his choices on the main stage, he has always catered for others on the other tents/stages.
I agree on part of production
Demos sound so much better than the actual albums.

No but Oasis got a lot of people
listening to music. Many people's first introduction to music which leads to great things. Oasis were many people's band when naive and young.
Liam and Noel will always be like kids in the playgrounds. It's above chaps like Kele to carve out a decent personality (I thought he had one until today), Paul Smith of Maximo Park manages to perceive himself as a likeable chap without any kind of slagging off.
