From my first listen this has turned out to be great fun, a very enjoyable record. I'm going to have trouble recommending it to friends though.

I feel silly saying 'Chk Chk Chk'... so i will just have to act super excited and throw an album sleeve at them.

Well..

10/10? Can't say i agree. I find this to be a really average record. He has such an annoying and whiney voice. None of the songs stand out as good...

Maybe he is just one of those artists that only English people could enjoy. Down here in Australia, he has a few fans but i think for the most part, this doesn't appeal to me or anybody who wants something both catchy and enjoyable.

4/10 is more like what i got from it... each to their own though.

"Wincing The Night Away"

I agree with the part of the review talking about the opening song. You have written exactly what i was thinking at the start of the album and my feelings of the song. At first it didn't feel normal but as soon as it 'kicked in' like you say, everything felt right in the world.

It's a good album but i've only had it for a few days (yes, far far from the actual release of the cd) so i still need to give it a few more listens.

"Boxer"

Fantastic review.

I pretty much agree. It's still growing on me so i'm not going to say that that the album isn't 9/10 worthy. I'm really really enjoying this.

I have never actually listened to The National before *blushes* but there you go, a new band to obsess about!

Great so far.

"Mirrored"

This is such a groundbreaking record and it continues to grow on me. It's addictive, it's memorable and practically perfect.

I can understand why some people may not like this but if you don't then atleast appreciate how amazing of an effort this is. What they have done here is a great thing for music.

Ma Fleur

A great review there, that really was something.

That's why it is a shame that i have to disagree with your ending score. It's also a shame that i didn't enjoy this album as much as some of you other people did.

I bought this album thinking the rest would be like the opening song (which is fantastic) but everything after the opener paled in comparison. I was kind of dissapointed and bored with it all by the end of my first listen. It's good enough that i will continue to listen to it but i think it fell short, personally.

I wish..

every song on the album was as good as this one. Patrick Watson has a fan ;)

Baby 81

I bought it because it received a fantastic score over at IGN (9.6/10) but i don't think it is worthy of that high score. While it is a fun record, it isn't a very memorable one. I have a feeling that once i'm done listening to it about 10 times it will end up lost in the shuffle. It's a good record but it's not what i expected. And after reading the IGN review what i expected certainly wasn't 'good'. It was more than that.

Oh well, money well spent and all that.

Ugh

What is this bull?

6/10? This is a CLASSIC for gods sake.

A bit harsh

One good album?

There is plenty of good albums from these guys that more than live up to expectations. Talkie Walkie, 10,000Hz Legend and this one. Yeah, Pocket Symphony.

And what exactly is wrong with having more of the same? Especially since everybody loves Moon Safari, why not more of that music? If you want something different go listen to another artist.

5 out of 10 my ass.

Massive Attack - 100th Window

Good review. This is obviously not MA's best but i think 8 is an accurate score. We seem to forget that 'bad' for these guys is still for the most part excellent in general.

Basically..

The best electronic album of this decade. If you were to of given it anything less than 10 then you would be offending heaps of people. Modern day classic.

Great review.
