Erm
Also...
The Justice set was probably the sweatiest and hottest thing I've ever been to in my life.
and..
Booka Shade was fucking AWESOME.
Hm
The Daily Express are the main ones who rant on about Diana. Daily Mail do, but to a lesser degree.
"Since this protest was announced a great deal of misinformation has appeared on the internet, much of which confuses what the Daily Mail has actually published with the comments of website readers and 'blogs' over which we have no control and which have stirred up emotions."
What a load of shit. It's got nothing to do with the comments on the website, the articles themselves contain all the inflammatory sensationalist crap you need.
Yes
I don't understand the hoo-har about this. People get like this all the time around animals...all like "ooooh how cuuuuttee" *baby voices*. Just cos it's those two it doesn't make it suddenly a despicable act of animal cruelty by flea-infested skag heads.
Oh
Now this is toooo funny.
Haha
That Amstell clip is bloody classic.
Well
It's a good thing you posted the plain text, because the website is a fucking awful mess of green and pink splodges.
And to pick out just one of the main things wrong with your review:
"No boring 32-bar parts that loop mindlessly!"
Pendulum are the kings of boring looping.
Well
If they are so bitter about it, why don't they just fuck EMI over by releasing the compilation for free on their website?
X
Converge
Cursive
These two would be cool.
Hmmm
All very true, but would be more appropriate as a general critique on the band rather than as a review of this specific album.
Yes
This is good stuff.
They kinda remind me a bit of Boris too.
Yep
Fantastic opening paragraph. Good article.
Hmmm
No matter how much I find myself thinking that their music is okay, and maybe even quite good, I can't shake the feeling that there is just something inherently annoying about them, and it comes through in all their songs.
So
I can appreciate the fact that they tried something different from the first album, and will definitely alienate a lot of their hardcore fans (which can only be a good thing!), but this album is really quite bad. It's a very bland basic ripoff of The Beatles.
Man
Some of the bands here are so bloody mediocre.
Sons & Daughters, One More Grain, Lightspeed Champion. Same old tired indie trash.
Only decent record is The Mars Volta, the Vampire Weekend album is okay, but seems like what an album would sound like if Pitchfork created one, it almost seems created purely to please Pitchfork.
el Guincho sounds interesting though having listened to a couple of songs.
Tbh
The LCD album is very good, but I'm really surprised how it's made to the number one slot on so many lists...I mean c'mon, it's not _that_ good is it?
The MIA album at number two aswell? My god is that an overrated pile of shite.
And did they just run out of albums? Because The Chemical Brothers album one of the best of the year? What?
SHOUT SHOUT SHOUT
LOUD NOISES
Seriously
He's playing Dogma? What the fuck?
And you missed out:
The Fall of Troy - Manipulator
White Rabbits - Fort Nightly
Saul Williams - Niggy Tardust
Portugal. The Man - Church Mouth
Hmm
Where's fucking Burial...clearly album of the year...
Oh
Fuck. I really wanted to see them live.
Well
That sucks. Damn good band.
Youtube videos
First three all link to Why's video.... Nice article.
Wow
This album is actually _brilliant_. I love it.
What?
Have you actually got anything concrete to say they are definitely boycotting?
All I heard (I was there), was Win saying that IF another bottle was thrown they'd never play Nottingham again...I didn't see any evidence to suggest he's actually going through with the threat.
Really good gig, shame that Nottingham people are SHIT at gigs, been gigging in Nottingham for about two years now (and live in London so seen a lot of gigs there) and I've never seen such a bigger bunch of tired, lazy people standing around doing nothing at every fucking gig I go to. Get some bloody energy and vim for gods sake and move your body and get involved! Fuck Nottingham, it's a shithole, can't wait to finish uni here.
^^
In reply to alexliamw of course.
Really?
No shit sherlock.
Hmmm
I'm still working on the vast amount of good stuff released in 05 :p
Plus new Isis should be out soon with a bit of luck. That will be awesome.
Well
I dont know about you guys, but I'm FUCKING THERE.
Sugababes and Craig David?
This will beat 65daysofstatic, Explosions in the sky, and Mogwai COMBINED!
65dos > *
Not surprised at 65dos. They were one of the most intense bands I've seen in a long time when I saw them at Rescue Rooms earlier this year. They are just sickeningly good. I've got uni exams right at the time when they are playing the Mean Fiddler, but fuck them, I'm going to that gig.
haha
What an ironic article.
"The Mother of Entertainers"
So...the mother of someone who completely glorifies gun violence (just watch the intro to the Dre/Eminem/Snoop Dogg "Up In Smoke" tour of 1999).
Oh the huge manatee.
LOL at your mother though :D
yes
Black people wouldn't really have a voice like Antony though? It's a really "white" voice.
Yea
I thought it was aimed at children and adults, i.e. trying to create an album both would like.
Fuck seeing TMV
It'll actually be a 1 hour set, with 2 hours of static background noise, because that's what The Mars Volta seem to like doing a lot of. They are probably my second favourite band, but when they pull that shit at live performances I want to fucking kill. Yes it works for linking songs on an album, if it lasts less than a minute (i.e. De-Loused), when it is 15 minutes of a 30 minute song such as Cassandra Gemini, and then you are so far up your own arse that you decide to play it live, you need to be shot. They are fucking retarded live now, after the release of Frances The Mute. If they played purely De-Loused, for an hour, it would be awesome, sadly they wont.
Yep
These articles are why I love Dis :p

Carzy: great eloquence.
grockle: please do buy his records, they're quite splendid."
When the truth is self-evident there is no need for eloquence...
