Congratulations Mark

This is a furiously written review for a furious band! It does sound like Earthly Delights is more of the same from Lighting Bolt, but who cares! You have inspired me to get back in line for the barefoot, white hot razor walk we all love so much.

Holy crap

Yes.

There are some amazing Polish bands

check out Scianka (experimental, Soft Machine-esq crazyness.) They are still one of my favourite bands ever! Also, try and dig up anything by Ewa Braun (post hardcore noise). Cool Kids Of Death are ok. It's their lyrics that are their best feature though and my Polish is.....erm...rusty??

Fucking awesome band

Fucking awesome record.

Wow.

I shouldn't really add to this but I wanted to say I've just been compeled to read the entirety of a very muddy argument. It's gone from some opinions on the Robb piece, which really does exactly what the brief said it would be. Some people like him some people don't. Then Kells and Marvin pop along to just personally insult anyone with an opinion different to theirs and eventually physically threaten someone...on the internet! :D Then everything becomes a blur of virtual blows like a cartoon fight in a cloud of dust. All this because someone wrote on a music website about what he likes for breakfast and whether he chooses to have a wank in the morning or not. Yes this site is full of a lot of smart Alec witisism and sarcasm but so what? We all like music and feel passionate enough to broadcast our opinions and entertain other peoples arguments. What we don't expect is personal abuse and ridiculous generalisations on what class of people actually visit the site. Go and listen to your favourite record and calm down. Does music journalism really mean as much as the music itself? Not for me by a long shot.

I don't think it needed an intro. "A day in a life of a music critic" is enough.

Shame the rest of it reads like a six year old's show and tell.

...oh yeah...no humour in The Mars Volta??

Have you SEEN the artwork for this? ;D

Good review

succinct, neutral and nicely descriptive. I bought this a couple of days ago so I'm still letting it settle with me but while dipping in and out of it exposes the jaggered peaks, I'm more interested in the climb down below to clouds which is where TMV really get clever. Also, much less Salsa this time around...

Can I just add....

a) Saint Dymphna

Will spout trivia for clothes.

thxnwby

The Garage is re-opening!! :D

I missed that place. One shall be in attendance.

Thank you.

I am probably nearly as sick of hearing about a "possible ATD-I reunion" as they are. Let it go people. You will never have the feelings you had when you first heard ATD-I again. You don't wish you could re-eat a good cake once it's gone...you find another one.

Is it me...

Or is Graham Coxon looking more and more like Peter Baynam?

yup yup....13 :)

nice nice

The trouble with Omar's solo stuff

is he releases too much! It feels like there is no quality control. The TMV's follow up to Bedlam in Goliath was finished at the end of November and since then Omar has released 4 albums on his own! Crrraaaazy.

I was just in front of that twat!

He actually had the whole front row turn and tell him to shut the fuck up!

The new Radiohe....

I'll get my coat.

rumour has it

that Liam has ACTUALLY had cologen implants into his lower lip so he looks like that perminently. ACTUALLY.

*the same award winners as last year*

That first one made no sense.

*remember

I'm confused.

No show? Only one exit? Club didn't exist?? What the hell is she talking about?

I have to engineer a

rubbish acousto-rock night tonight :( Cack. Zettasaur are quality!

I find it much more accessable than their earlier ep

Yes it does get tiring as a start to finish LP but the rewards are numerous in each track. It's like watching stones skimming on a lake from under the water. It's great to watch the smooth nuggets whizz over your head but occationally the rock (cheezy pun?)drops right into your hand through the water. This is yours to keep. Everyone has a personal moment with this record and I love it because of that.

They are not clever.

All they have realised is a certain pop market likes familiarity, hence the continuing use of oooooh aaaah's. The Kaiser Chiefs are no different to a pasta sauce manufacturer releasing the same product with "NEW AND IMPROVED" on the label.

I am listening to this RIGHT NOW.

Tis rather on the special side. We're playing with them on the 30th Sept and I am truely excited.

the Berlin Bastard??

:D I wanna play there!!

He was initally supposed to play

two nights at Wembley, but they cancelled one for Bill Bailey :) hehe. True story.

I read a fantastic comment from Maroon 5 the other week...

"We want to make music RED again. There's too many bland artists around at the moment" ...er...that would be Maroon BEIGE included then??

When I say

"feel for her" i'm not talking blind gropes.

So what are they saying...

If you have a parking ticket offence and you won't be allowed into the US?? I'm not a fan of Lily's but I do feel for her. That must be pretty frustrating.

Why why why??

...

Copy and paste biog me thinks?

I've not heard anything by O'Death. I'm not particularly inspired to do so after reading someone seeming unrelated GCSE creative writing project. Ho hum.

yup.

grim.

knights = NIGHTS

I geddit!! Hahahahahah. Gak.

*Hangs head*

The sound system in Koko just won't be able to cope with this. It's just gonna sound like one long bass solo with school hall echo over the top. Rubbish venue.

oh the memories.....

I must get these games again :)

I thought

Klaxons jokingly described themselves like that in an interview and the NME and T4 clambered all over it making it an "official" style of music. Nobs.

Billy Childish liked my band

I don't think I have ever been more flattered in my life. He is a true gent.

"If This Is It?" is a warm memory..

then The Icarus Line still have the answer burning like a raw cock". Quality.

Gutted.

Although, I'm pretty sure the gutted-ness is felt by the band as well.

Will somebody PLEEEASE...

straighten his face. Smug git.

You are so right about the skill

It does take thought, planning and an intial need and idea. There are pitfalls, the cassette time constraint meant endless lazy tapers slapping Song 2 at the end of every compliation to fill every last lead filing on that precious TDK. Imagination please! The mix tape will NEVER die.

Can I just add...

THAT AN EMERGENCY WERE PRETTY FUCKING AWSOME TOO! I don't mean to come across as a nob.

I've got a version

of "Satisfaction" done by Bjork and PJ Harvey. Tis fucking dire!
