No Gang Gang Dance?
Fail.
I quite like Vision Valley
So sad to see this now.
wow. nice review.
it's much deserved.
So then
What happens to the line up now that Mystery Jets have pulled out? Slightly longer sets for the main stagers? (here's hoping)
Great track
Stupendously catchy.
100% this
Never listen to the radio. I even like Dizzee Rascal. "Fix Up Look Sharp" is all I know of him, admittedly. I think that tune is great though, better than most cack that gets to #1!
Bloody hell
I need to get this sorted.
Please add Hella and Slayer soon so I can make my friends as excited as I am....
Yeah, it was a lot of fun
I'd be a little more generous, maybe an 8.5
I wonder if
the guys in the record shop knew who they were? Great edition, as always
Everyone's fave track?
I'm thinking "Yeah Sapphire" at this point
Pretty much every time
My friends and I travel to a gig, something goes wrong.
The worst one was being stuck in a broken down car in the middle lane of the M6 on the way to Manchester, as traffic whizzed past.
Wait... nooooo... the worst was travelling to Reading 2000 when a tire burst at speed, causing us to go careering into a bank and then rolling over. amazingly no-one was hurt, and parents arrived to take us onward to the festival... ahhh... parents are so great. Amazing times.
There's a lot more but I have to go... we are terribly unlucky
I got my Saturday ticket
Battles FTW
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Unless someone invented time travel and it's 1997 again, if so.... EXCITING!
Unsold tickets
I'm sure the weather has played some part of this. But I think the real reason is the awful, awful lineup, and the fact that these days there are so many better (and cheaper) festies to go to...
So is there a new rule that I missed
If Pitchfork gives an album a good review then it's actually crap?
Fuck off
Sounds ace
I want it!
See the Coldplay album thread.
6 = decent
7 = good
It's somewhere in between.
Yeahhhh
This is so much better than Welcome to the North, I'm so pleased that it got a fair review on here.
Field Day
Are they playing or are they not playing? So confusing.
another vote :)
yet another great album out in June.
if this doesn't turn up in the "month in records" feature then something's wrong!
Get it
For the love of all that is holy, get it
I think a 6 is fair
The opening two tracks, Chinese Sleep Chant and Strawberry Swing are decent enough. For me, the rest of them are either suffering from overplay (Itunes ad, the single) or just dull.
I quite like Coldplay, I'm glad to see some good tracks on there, but recently I realised that there's just so much more out there that warrents my precious listening time.
I'm sure it's going to do well, hardly the biggest crime in the world.
So
THAT's why my £4.99 Play order was cancelled last week!
Was my first time too
The wonderful thing about reading all of the different blogs that have appeared on the event over the past couple of days is that while everyone seems to have had a totally different mix of bands and activities, everyone had an absolutely amazing time, myself included.
Friday highlights for me were finally arriving after a 5 hour car journey to see Man Man playing an awe-inspiring set, I mean what a way to start. Trotting off in a drunken state all over the venues to catch some of Vampire Weekend, Fuck Buttons, Carsick Cars, Sebadoh, Ween and Glass Candy. Thinking how awesome and intimate the venues were.
Saturday highlights - shaking off a hangover to go to the beach, which was wonderful. Times New Viking. Yeasayer. Los Campesinos - heartwarming, genuine guys. Moshing to Les Savy Fav and losing a watch. Les Savy Fav's Camber Sands march. Euphoric dancing to Hot Chip. Dancing all night, seeing the sunrise on the beach.
Sunday - Saturday night had really taken it's toll, but I was pleased that I dragged myself off to see Jens Lekman. Saw bits of lot of bands that day actually, A Place To Bury Strangers, No Age, Deerhunter (probably mixing up dates at this point), Harmonia. The day belonged to the trip of Of Montreal, who won over everyone, Hold Steady and Girls Against Boys... all brilliant.
typing all that has made me want to go back.
Damn you No Age
For releasing this brilliant album. I've got a really difficuly decision at ATP between Hold Steady and these guys. This record wins.
exactly
If this is a 9, then Silent Shout must be a 15 out of 10.
This is such a dull record, aside from a couple of excellent tracks.
Finally listened to this today
Very glad I did. "Everything is fine" just came on... ace
Yes
This is great!
I'd give it a 7
Some good stuff, some weird stuff, but nothing really bad.
Slightly overrated
But this is still a solid debut. Really like the first few tracks, but the album has kind of a weak middle. Picks up again at the end though...
Hurrah!
I love that man.
The Gloaming
is dire... how could you?
Can't wait for this
Errors are awesome.
The myspace link in the article is broken, by the way.
This is great
I can't say I listen to very much metal, so it was a pleasant surprise to find that the lead singer doesn't scream the vocals at larnyx-tearing force, making it pretty listenable. It's doubled my productivity at work for the hour it was on. This + Black Mountain to wind down to seems to work pretty well!
ATP vs Pitchfork
Have ordered tickets already, because it looked like the larger chalets were selling out. The article doesn't mention Les Savy Fav and Hot Chip are on the bill too. It's going to be bloody brilliant.
Great album
No mention made of Wucan in the review though, which is an amazing sounding track... oh who am I kidding - they all are!
I'm impressed
Fanfarlo and Broken Records sound absolutely fantastic. Abe Vigoda could be interesting as well.
Nice artice, very useful. I still need to check out some of the other band's myspaces...
hot chip
As much as I like the new album, I can't help but think that there aren't any real standout tracks on the album as good as say, No Fit State or Over And Over...
I hope it does very well though!

I don't get the inclusion of the Mogwai album
It's really shit.
