This is brilliant
Glad it's on Spotify 'til I can afford to buy it.
Ha ha
RICHAAAAYYYYYYYYY!
Best theme week on DiS ever
Every week should be Grizzly Bear week.
Really great read
Cheers for this...
'Intelligently profound lyrics'?!
Haway man mate.
Let me be the first to be a pedantic fucker and point out
None of them are actually Geordies... The closest is Archis who moved here in 1995 (according to Wikipedia). But yeah, I'm also looking forward to this :-)
This is quite exciting
I fucking love Finelines.
You should
She's good.
I think 7/10
is a pretty fair summing up. I've listened to it a fair bit now and I like it but I don't love it (Whereas I most certainly DO love Hold on Now Youngster). I think that if this were a debut album, we might feel slightly (only very slightly, mind) short-changed. Though I guess that's perhaps why they've been distancing themselves from calling it an album. I'm still glad they've done this.
Agreed...
Keep it personal, DiS!
Fair points
and, for what it's worth, I don't mind reading the occasional panning of shitehounds provided it doesn't detract from the general overall positive vibe (ie Music is good) that hangs around this place.
:-D
Nice idea to look back on the old designs of the site. I almost feel like I've grown up with it since I first starting reading it at 2.0. The change to 3.0 was pretty exciting. Thank fuck HTM-hell was nipped in the bud sharpish. That was like a load of mischievous kids gleefully trashing their newly refurbished school.
I flippin'
hope so. That was awesome.
Futureheads+Sage+Christmas
=Happy Browno
Yay!
I didn't even know this was coming it, but I'm looking forward to it. Everybody is awesome.
They
are probably just fucking sick of being interviewed by Zane Lowe every three weeks.
Good old Gateshead
You know, rumour goes, there's a sign backstage at the Sage which says something like 'Under no circumstances are you to say 'Hello Newcastle''. In fact, I'll rephrase my subject line... Good old NewcastleGateshead :-/
Fuck it though
I'm still really looking forward to this album. It loks as though I'm in the minority in loving their last album. I think it might be Murray's voice that gets me. Far more than it should get a beer-drinking, woman-kissing, meat-ripping chap like I (did I overcompensate there?)
That is
The best news I've had all day. And I've had a good day... I worry myself with how much I like their first album.
AAAGH!
This clashes with Blood Red Shoes! Bugger...
Where the hell is the End bar though?
Have I just got uncool?
Don't fret
Arf
I wish I did :-)
That whole album is great...
Amazing
Elbow + The Sage = BRILLIANT!
Liam Gallagher
Actually, it might be Peter Kember
Yes indeed
Fucking brilliant, he is. I prefer The Spaces in Between to Spoonface. I guess he has to feed himself somehow, similar to the way he was an extra guitarist in Easyworld (!) a few years back.
This thread made me grin
Good lord, The Enemy are fucking horrible.
Flipping right
It was brilliant, I bloody love it
I was amazed by that too
I mean, I never expected him to be a giant, but his sheer petiteness blew me away a bit...
Rufus in the Sage
I'm so inappropriately excited!
She's an absolute fucking dick
and I wouldn't touch her with somebody elses.
Kubichek
are fucking brilliant. And that's not just local-ism talking. Well, maybe a little. They're still brilliant....
Thing about Duke is...
He's wonderful, but he's yet to do himself real justice on record. He's absolutely fucking amazing live, but for whatever reason, it all sounds a bit too sterile when recorded. Having said that, this record is a step forward from the last one in that respect, but he still needs to find how to put the showy spectacularness of the live shows onto a record. I like his vinyl singles and the lovely wooden boxed vinyl set for this album though...
Yeahor!
I'm going to the Newcastle date with Stubryce! :-)
It's not genius
It's a bit shite... And unless you're American, the word 'ass' has no place here.
I just can't believe there
are still JB recordings that haven't been hawked yet. I thought his corpse had been well and truly ridden dry, Tupac style...
1977's class.
I think I'm the only person in the entire world (including Ash) who really likes NuClear Sounds, I actually think that's my favourite Ash album. The last one was pretty good too. I'd love Free All Angels to death as well, if it wasn't for Candy...
Kubichek + the Motorettes
= a live show made in heaven.
Christ that's embarassing
what a load of tossers. 2 blue wkds and they're anyone's...
I don't understand
why you keep posting that link.
yikes
I just watched that on Youtube. Hardly Girl From Mars, is it?!
Absolutely Heartbreaking
I'm so sorry, please get well soon.
I bet
Babyshambles don't turn up.
