NIN (Manchester)
Don't call yourself Jonny Wanker and the Disco Bastards. That is MY name, and you are not going to use it.
Great read
Really can't wait until the 17th now; as much as i love 100 Broken Windows, Hope is Important live will be mindblowing.
Sweet...
February 16th is my birthday.
Castle Donington
Thank you please.
That video
Is just so bad. Oh dear. The songs a bit shit n'all. And- whisper it- i quite liked Flux.
Lolz...
Cum.
Rockers is a right dump.
Not that i'll be going anyway like.
Bring on Manchester Apollo...
It's not fair that i have to wait a week or two longer, i want to see them NOW.
Liked 'Daddy's Gone' a lot
But everything else i've heard has just cried out BLAND to me.
It's true that there seems to be very few people in Glasgow who actually like Glasvegas n'all, they're always treated as a bit of a joke whenever mentioned up here. I remember at the Frightened Rabbit album launch, one of the support acts sung a parody completely ripping the piss out of them; very funny, but not at all unexpected coming from the Glasgow 'music-types'.
I'll reserve judgement until i hear the album, but there are a lot better bands in the area with half the publicity these lot are getting.
I've never been loved or been in love.
Now give me Liars stuff.
Toys R' Fucking Us
Would be a VERY interesting retail outlet.
Hmm
In all fairness, i quite enjoyed Kev's review, despite the fact that i disagree with it heartily; i love Elephant Shell, and it has been on near-constant rotation since the day it came out for me.
Just because a review offers a different opinion on a record to your own doesn't mean it's a bad review.
Not Kittens, but...
I Heard, He Ties Up Cats- Johnny Foreigner
Cat Black- Marc Bolan
Black Cat- Ladytron
The Truth About Cats And Dogs (Is That They Die)- Pony Up!
Cool For Cats- Squeeze
And Lovecats, obvs.
A stab in the dark, but i'll say...
Pete Kember (Sonic Boom).
That Picture...
THAT PICTURE. Wow.
the passWORD
Manchester, i suppose.
I was at the Mono gig.
*Indie points*
Road Rash
...ers of bacon.
Ho-hum.
Kookaburra, definately
Andy Davies,
Glasgow.
And i'd quite like a few of those there tickets if possible...
Yay!
I bloody love Fanfarlo me. Will be checking out some of the less familiar ones now, good article!
This song
is a total classic. I'm well hooked.
Elbow
are class. I'm so there at the ABC.
Really hope
He's on form for the Oran Mor gig on Thurs, never know what to expect with the guy really.
Saw them supporting Brakes
Couldn't really care less. Although i liked it when the singer dragged the drum into the crowd. That was a laugh.
Wow
This is the second time they've played Preston now. No-one ever comes back to Preston if they can avoid it...
Yay!
If it's half as good as What The Toll Tells, it'll be awesome.
Well now you've changed it
My first comment makes no sense at all. So i'll forgo the wit and just say that V's shit. Tum-te-tum.
Seconded
on the Oran Mor comment. I like this venue. It requires no effort.
£110 without the weekend?
I know V is bad, but surely we shouldn't be made to fork out that much for the privilege of not going.
Woo!
Oran Mor! Score!
Jeffrey;
Where is Lord Lucan?
Mr. Lewis;
Can you draw me a picture please?
(It's still a question dammit)
Fecking Preston date!
I go up to Glasgow again before that, and lo and behold no Glasgow date. Feckidy feck. Would have loved to see them at The Venue n'all, it's lovely and cosy.
Good band
Great song, best of theirs so far. Looking forward to the album.
Shit!
The Fopp on Byres Road was a 20 second stroll from my new flat, i was rather looking forward to becoming further entrenched in debt as a result. It's going to be a huge loss, always loved the place.
Is it just me
or does the wiring on the wall in the picture look very much like a big penis?
I'm so there at King Tuts
Pissed off that i'm in Glasgow when they play the Library in Lancaster though, that would have been very sexy.
The Lancaster date
Is actually in a library. I'm going, should be interesting if nothing else; Long Blondes played the library a while back and they handed out free CDs and promo stuff that they wanted to shift. Think you can only buy tickets in person though.
Best Live act i've seen in the past year or so
They're great fun. And "smashing happy hardcore records over its head with a penny whistle its arse" sums up Bukowski's Secret pretty much perfectly; brilliant song, interested to see what the new version sounds like.
First album is good.
Second album is absolutely dire. This makes me sad. I can deal with it though.
Really good band
Definately going to try and catch them live when they come up here next.
Gutted
Totally, totally gutted. Used to absolutely love the Coopers, and i thought the last album was pretty good actually. They'll be missed.
What he ^
said.
Of course, i meant to say Diver
Divder can stay though if it wants.
Just back from watching the game...
Mr. Divder, your guys took on hell of a beating...
We're the one and only North End (except Glossop).
Wow!
Someone else knows of Kriss Foster, the legend spreads. Morecambe is such a good song- i know of nothing that could accurately convey the tragedy of its demise so succintly. And the line about Eric Morecambe is genius.
Secret Gig
Is at the Dome in Morecambe, tickets on sale at midday tomorrow, doors at 7pm. I'd have quite liked to go to this, with it being about 10 mins down the road from me, but i had to go and get myself to Glasgow Uni didn't i... bugger.
Ooooh...
Beat me to it with Copperpot Journals. Otherwise The Fox in the Snow by Belle and Sebastian and A Samba In The Snowy Rain by Guillemots would probably be on t'stereo if it was actually snowing here in Glasgow. Boo Glasgow!
