The Resistance

I was brought up in Newton Abbot, just down the road from Teignmouth. I used to go and see Muse loads as a kid in the puds around Torquay and Exeter. I have a couple of set-lists they played around 2 years prior to Showbiz. I remember Matt offering me a lift home after one of their Cavern gigs. My parents were always late. It'd be pretty awesome and nostalgic to see them again in Devon. Would be a good excuse to go home and see the folks too.

.

great official video here showing how it was made using real-time scanning techniques: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyQoTGdQywY&feature=user

.

The scene shots look like they were originally done using terrestrial laser scanning techniques. e.g. an instrument spins 360 degrees sending millions of points of light, which reflect back to the sensor. The instrument measures the amount of time it takes the lights to return and creates 3D pictures.

Looks very kool. bx

TURN ON THE REAL DRUMS

i thought estelle and adele were the same person

.

The new bands don't help with the 'dressing up' options though do they?!?!

Hmm...maybe stick lots of cotton wool on and pretend to be a cloud.

Umm...that's for Lightning Bolt by the way.

that video freaks me out...

...especially the shifty look to left before he gets to the stone.

what the hell were they doing?

Saturday night at ICA...

...was pretty much a life-defining moment. 'I only said' was heavenly; 'nothing much to lose' was crazy good. Highlight was probably the distorted guitar in 'Spoon': I've never heard/felt anything like it. Unbelievable bx

fair point

i know a few other people who feel the same

i've got two tickets for this. MBV at the ICA. unbelievable. really unbelievable. *goes and sits down*

the LSF is sooo not creepy...

he was rocking out for the whole weekend. i even saw him down the front for shellac, immediately before LSF were due to stage. fantastic.

Looking forward to this. I was originally planning on seeing Yacht in April but this means i can see my team (Torquay United) in the Blue Square Semi-Final First Leg. Good Times. Any other gulls fans out there?

glasgow

not sure. i saw them at bristol thekla on the 21 feb (the day before they were due to play Glasgow) and they didn't appear to be too happy with things. the sound at the bristol gig was awful and the crowd weren't really into it either. still cool band though. bx

oooohhh....

Who knows my name and has "star" in their name? ***runs away scared/shy***

First, I'm just going to say "this is ludicrous, crazy...what were you thinking?!?". Not for any particular reason though, just because that seems to be the done thing. In fact, I think the list has been pretty interesting so far. Particularly liking the addition of No Age. Very good live too!!! In hindsight, Animal Collective and Blonde Redhead should possibly be higher in the list?!? Maybe.
