Album covers don't really matter to me much nowadays

since most of the way I buy music is (legal) downloads from Amazon or emusic.

Pitchfork give it 6.0

I agree with the review. It's an excellent album.

It would be very hard for them to produce another It's Blitz. The album is very varied and works well for that reason. I've seen some harsh reviews for Mosquito with MusicOMH giving it 4/10/. I'm tending towards a 9/10 after listening to it around six or seven times over now.

I'll definitely check this album out. I've heard nothing of theirs on

Spotify/Soundcloud etc. I saw them once live about 18 months ago by accident at The Barfly supporting Smoke Fairies. I got to The Barfly far earlier than expected and caught Daughter's set. All of a sudden they're big enough to headline Shepherd Bush Empire. I guess I missed the hype.

I've seen them live four or five times over the last 12-18 months.

They've always been a great live act. I'm looking forward to the album. The Line of Best Fit website gave the album 9 out of 10 too.

I heard a few songs from a website that was streaming it. It sounded

ok on first impressions. Like all Tindersticks albums I guess you have to give at least three or four listens before making up your mind on it.

Good review. I've heard this album through twice. I'd probably give

it an 8 or 8.5 though. A very good album.

Parts & Labor are a brilliant band. I've seen them three times in

London; at The Cargo, The Macbeth and CAMP. All three times the venues were about a third full. Shame they never got the recognition they deserved.

I saw them at the Barfly twice a few months ago. The songs that

I hadn't heard from the EP sounded ok, but them being a good live band sort of made up for it. I'm seeing them again at The XOYO. Hopefully, it'll be a good gig despite what I see from various reviewers, an average debut album.

This album's a real grower. You Forgot It In People is brilliant.

I think the new one may be even better after some more listens.

I'm listening to this album now. It sounds pretty good and not

too polished. I saw them live a couple of times a few weeks back; they're good live too.

I've had this album for a while. It's great. I saw them live a couple

of times last month. They're a great live band too. This band needs checking out if you haven't heard of them yet.

I think this album is a real grower. The first two songs on her first

album were great but the rest of the album was rather weak, the new one is generally very good. She was great at The Barfly last week too.

I'm really looking forward to this album.

Distortion got mixed reviews, I thought is was excellent after a few listens. As a massive Magnetic Fields fan, a new album is always a bit of an event. Looking forward to their Barbican show too. I have just realized that there are some potentially great albums out next Monday: new albums by Magnetic Fields, Tindersticks, Spoon and Beach House. The Erland and the Carnival album is worth checking out too.

I went to the gig on Friday.

I'll remember that gig for years to come. Simply awesome.

Thanks for the link. It's just

a Seetickets link really. I managed to get Row A tickets. Damn expensive but cheers.

This is really old news. But

does anyone know who's the support band on the Wednesday?

I'm really looking forward

to this album. Their last was one of my albums of the year. I saw them at The Water Rats last year, they were good (could have been better) but they came over as really people. Which is rare. Most people in bands are bastards.

^^.... bad grammer.

Sorry.

Dear Companion is an

excellent album. It's better than any of The Espers albums for me. Should be a good gig, especially seeing it that it's at The Luminaire.

Not seen them before but am

looking forward to their Water Rats gig next week. I thought their album is one of the albums of the year. They really remind me of Galaxie 500.

Of Montreal at ULU supported by

Black Kids sounds like a good double bill.

I like the fact that the tickets

are limited to two per household. I presume that if you wanted anymore you wouldn't be able to afford to eat for that month.

Great song. They're great

live too. Everyone should go see them when they tour later this year.

Bollocks. I'd just bought a ticket

to The Borderline gig at midday.

I didn't see Horowitz

but did see Ballboy and Bearsuit. I'd agree with the marks out of ten given here. I was hoping that Ballboy would be excellent but it has to be said that something was missing live. Not bad at all though. It was a good night.

I'm not bothered.

I don't like this band too much.

I really like this band. But

I just can't stand the fucking Koko. The number of great bands I would have got tickets for if it weren't for the fact that they're plaing the koko is mounting up fast - Battles is another example. Why can't some Brazilian Church buy out The Koko instead of The Astoria.

Saturday

Stormy Weather - Nina Nastasia. It's simply an amazing song. Dogs is brilliant.

Agree. Tilly were very good.

The sound was poor though. The times I saw them at The Luminaire and Nambucca last year and was blown away at how brilliant a band could be.

I just think it's a great

album really. Not seen them live but I'm looking forward to it next month.

I thought they were ok

at UCL. I'm not sure if I've got my facts right but they hadn't got many gigs under their belt at that time anyway. I saw them at The Forum, very good live. I've got my Shepherd's Bush tickets already, their debut album was amazing, not a dud song on it.

I went to the gig earlier

tonight. I'm afraid to say that it was shit. I really liked their last two albums and was looking forward to seeing them. But for some reason it just fell flat.

Sonic Youth and

Sleater Kinney are great bands, but those albums are just plain poor. Sorry, but it is true.

I was at the King's Head

gig. It was simply stunning. You really could hear a pin drop. The new album is certainly good, but I don't think any solo female (or male for that matter) singer has released anything in the last 10 years as good as Dogs.
