yeah, but.....

it's hard on that sort of level to make any real money, despite being fairly well known and having a good following (something I like to call music purgatory), so what would your alternative be? Besides, if a fan gave you £200 to tour, surely you'd play a song for them

The Longcut still have the version of this song

This remix is pretty crap

....just sayin'

Concidering the fact,

that they've already done better than Envy & Other Sins, thats an acomplishment in itself isn't it?

Do you know what the full odds are?

I want to know if its worth putting a last minute bet on Led Bib

^agree

new stuff is very underwhelming

While I am a jazz musician,

this album is not as self indulgent as I feared, or as you make out. And I have heard some fucking awful indulgent jazz.

" Sad that there won't be any more Radiohead long players? "

Where did they say they wern't going to do another one? They meerly said there were no plans to do one at this time

Mogwai/The Thing were spectacles as always

Final Fantasy, on the other hand, not at all good

That Hay fight, sure was awesome

Yay Dutch Husband

Nice to see my homies getting a London gig. I'm so proud ^_^

I'm happy to see this get a review

I did two shows with them last year and they were mega mega fun to watch. I really hope they tour this album as well. It'll be great to see them live again :)

I'm just skimming through some of the unknowns now

The Invisible is probs my favorite so far. It's got a former member of Acoustic Ladyland in its ranks

Why is the theme from Pete & Pete not on there?

That kicked serious ass

Seconded that yet

Almost certanly will turn into one

Daft Punk would totally rock the place

and Beastie Boys ^_^

:D

Yay!

^snap!

:)

oh, i see its the first quarter of the year

me = not reading stuff properly

You do know

that the list could change within the next 8 months, right?

I still, to this day

don't understand how they ended up on Warp :|

Mike Skinner was a good lyricist

........once :(

Great re-review

Although I do think you should have left the original review still up (good for debates and stuff etc)

The Justice Simpsons picture

BEST. THING. EVER.

..

Charlottefield - What Are Friends For
True Swamp Neglect - Cloud Cloud Cloud
They Came From The Stars I Saw Them - We Are All In the Gutter
Mystery Jets - Twenty One
Xx Teens - Welcome to Goon Island
Dave Douglas & Keystone - Moonshine
Johnny Foreigner - Waited Up Till It Was Light
Los Campsinos - Hold on Now Youngster

" it's a viola – yeah, like a violin but bigger"

I play viola and I've always had to say that exact same phrase to people....grrrrr

Love her music

Great read

I wish I lived in Scotland. Those gigs look fucking amazing

YESSSS!!!!!

Looking forward to it

Such a good good gig

Awesome :)

Lightning Bolt

Grabba Grabba Tape
Gay Against You
Agaskodo Teliverek (although they've turned into a full band now)

What about The Enemy

and all of their "If you're rich, you'd write a song about a casle, and no one wants to hear a song about a casle" bollocks

They're from a working class background and they make the most appaling shite imaginable

the review reads like a 4 or 5/10

is it really that bad to recieve a 2?

With the three examples you gave at the top

of blatant slating (I&H, Mika, Plain White Ts), they created a lot of debate with DiSers about weather the album was that bad, bad street teamers trying (and failing) to justify the album (come on, who on DiS doesn't like ganging up on Street Teamers) and were pretty much drowned in comments (in Mika's case, DiS won a fan in Brian May, which wouldn't have happened if the album wasn't reviewed)

What a fucking wierd line-up

But fucking brilliant as well

I thought

a better title for this article would have been 'Dirty Splitty Things'

Yes, I won't ever do any bad puns ever again

I got into it with 2.0

I liked 3.0 but found it fustrating that I couldn't highlight anything.
Happy Birthday (It was my birthday yesterday too ^_^) and hope the new design doesn't suck

GO TO YOUR ROOMS!!!

BOTH OF YOU!

Great read

however hes on thin ice when he compares Editors to John Cale

This is worth going to

I might see if I can make this

I really want to check it out

Sounds very promising. If 'The Sun Smells to Loud' is the worst track off the album, then I'm really looking forward to hearing the rest of it

Was looking through the old reviews of the band

and found this quote from 'Winning Days'

"From here, The Vines will go one of two ways. Either Nicholls will throw a big strop with the media and spend the rest of his career tossing out similarly substandard albums with gradually diminishing returns a la The Cranberries,"

That is exactly right.

Ooh at Kinesis related stuff

This is the one who didn't becombe a scientologist I'm assuming.

The Flaming Lips might actually be the best band ever

Incredible live as well.

However, as long as its not All American Rejects who wins this

no. january 2009

they'll havvw already been forgotten about by then

When I first saw the title

I thought the discs themselves would be edible. Very Anti-Climtatic :(

I don't like bannana's either

Wahoo!

Me=very very very excited

I hope when you say 'organic', its more in the direction of 'Music is Rotted One Note'

Just out of interest

are the other websites still going to be active (either by DiS or as independants)
Its probably for the best the deals terminated before Murdoch got full possestion of your souls
