Yup
win - closer to my house = no £6 taxi to the bay
lose - barfly blah blah blah
Lies
I had the funniest weekend of my life... but then i had a free ticket, camped in the staff site (which was empty after most of them walked out on Saturday) and left before the rain came along on Sunday.
I haven't read all the comments, but in case no-one else has mentioned it; gallows were fucking amazing.
Ouch
a little harsh, but mostly fair... I was disappointed as hell when i heard 'Empty Walls' and realised the album was just going to be filled with SOAD lite.
No need to confess to liking that first album though - its awesome.
Amazingly
The book is even listed on Amazon... i'm tempted to find a copy, it sounds fucking hilarious.
Wembley Arena??
Really? Like, REALLY...?
Jesus.
Newport on a friday, eh?
if the tickets are decently priced this sounds like too much of a laugh to pass up...
I'm a little skeptical
about how much press this is geting, but if it works it'll be cool - kind of like a regression to the golden age of singles, when the kids all went crazy for their '45s...
not sure
maybe the rules are a little stricter over here and they're just doing it to get rid of the spare copies they have dotted around the company office.
It's possible the whole thing's a lie anyway, like I said it came from a kevin smith dvd.
*eligible
damn
There was something about it
on one of Kevin smith's 'evening with' dvd's. He did the it in the states to guarantee that the cd would make it into the charts.
Apparently the scam is that the ticket comes free with the cd rather than the other way around - this makes it eligable for the charts and all that jazz... sneaky.
totally spot on
Nothing about this show seemed to click, it's a shame since the other times i've seen them they've been fantastic.
I get the feeling there's a clash of ideals going on; some of them look like they still want to do the 'dark & mysterious' image of their tours with isis & dillinger (when there was so little light and so much dry ice that you could barely see them), but other members look desperate to be seen - johannes throws more rock god guitar shapes every time i see them...
Apparently they're making
a 'big' announcement at their show on Monday 19th - for some reason this has got me fearing the worst...
Do what i did
and buy tickets for one of the european shows too. Amsterdam on Easter monday, £20 for tickets and £40 for flights... result :o)
'You’re digging really deep there…'
Is three albums ago (not counting the one coming up) really that deep?
This interview makes me think Roe might be a bit of a dick.
I sent the cash for this yesterday
meant to post about it in the forum but got drunk and forgot.
colour me confused
I'm having a really hard time understanding Universal's point - where is all this 'user stolen' stuff?
Of course, I'm only trying to find out so i can go on a shoplifting spree...
Deftones - one great track my arse
Bloody cape
Battle axe
When girls telephone boys
Minerva
Didn't Amusement Parks on Fire support?
If so, does anyone know if they were any good?
Great review
for a great album. A couple of my friends have complained that it's too commercial or not heavy enough, but I think it's just about perfect.
Even pink cellphone has grown on me since the filth got stripped away - it should still have been at the end of the disc though
speak for yourself
I had tickets for the Cardiff show but went to Deftones instead... arse.
I'd just bought tickets for the show in Dec with Orange Goblin too
Theres another version
of the album floating around as a torrent now - its marked as 'retail' and doesn't have the filth at the end.
Which is good.
neither
David Bellamy is clearly the man
I'd also include...
'A Praise Chorus' by jimmy eat world in that list - another slice of happy genius
Shhhhh
I was hoping this wouldn't get shouted about too loud - i want to be able to get those presale tickets tomorrow
Drank far too much at the Scala show in June and barely remember a thing about it... wont make the same mistake this time
That price tag
is the funniest joke i've heard outta them - £30?! (Ok, £25 outside London)
So they open with 'fuck her gently' and close with 'tribute' - then what?
Best simile ever!
I'm gonna be laughing about that for hours
Jesus Christ...
For a second i thought it said '4 Non Blondes' up there. It made me feel a little bit ill.
Keep it - but clean the bastard up
It needs an overhaul - that metal thing around the desk is a joke - but it's still a damn fine venue for the right bands (Down were awesome in May).
Oh, I guess the LA2/Mean Fiddler would go too...
According to wikipedia, KOKO holds 1500 people to the Astoria's 2000 - that sounds like a lot to me. Though given that they say the LA2 holds 1200 i'm not taking the figures as gospel

3.0 was where i started
and is the best design by far.
1.5 gets extra points for boobies tho.
