and i thought mika was middle eastern

ha ha

it's like a song that failed to make the b-side of a children in need charity release...i imagine dawn french and lenny henry running about dressed as chantalle and preston being "really funny" everytime i have to hear this....

this is one of those things you can't believe more than one person gave the greenlight to releasing, let alone recording...bizarre

i always

think he looks like a hamster that's been used for cosmetics and hair colouring testing.

Re: DiS Disappearing For A Few Days

Re: Bright Eyes O-burst back with Live LP

Re: DiS is 5: New site! Win an awesome prize!

an anchor and a seagull...some watery seafaring visuals in relation to "drowned" i take it?

Busted for good: ex-member Bourne gets bitchy

i've moved to down to dorset and i was listening to Wessex FM (great adverts) and the dj was going "..and YES! tomorrow! we have! an EXCLUSIVE! spot with! SON! OF! DORK!!!!"
I thought it was just some local young Farmer's skatepark band with a band like that. But no, it's worse.

X-Factor news spew: box offices and breakdowns

i really like Simon Cowell actually- at least he's funny, to the point and being honest.

I saw the second of this series (i think) and it was really really scary. This girl who was 19 but looked 30 came on, a fairly big girl in the tightest most desperate dress, and her mum and fiance and sis were with her. Unanimously they agreed she was an amazing singer and this was her future- she practiced everyday etc etc.

So she goes on, singing "i believe i can fly". You wouldn't even know she was singing- she wasn't even terrible, just not very good and unmemorable. Simon simply said "i don't believe you're flying anywhere" or something. Shazza & Popeye agree and she runs out blubbing. Literally the poor girl is having a breakdown at which point Coldplays' fucking "Fix You" starts playing and the credits roll! Then her mum, sis and fiance run in to the audition room and get on their fucking KNEES and start begging like Oliver Twist kids, "please, we'll do anything, let her in, please, this is her life". Shazza is crying and Simon's just in shock. All the while the camera keeps cutting to closeups of the girl breakingdown to the sound of Chris Martin like it's an episode of Hollyoaks!

She was rubbish, and didn't deserve to get in, but i thought the filming was fo harsh- to show a whole family on their knees for Simon Cowell, and the media/pop industry, was just so depressing...they didnt have to show that- a whole families' dignity being ripped up for television/pop culture fame. Really sad, i thought.

Re: Chin-Chiller: Chris quits Art Brut

yes! it was absoultely brilliant. It's actually one of my stupidly geeky life missions to somehow obtain a copy of that 7".

If anyone by an bizarre coincedence has it on MP3 could they email it to me please!

Re: Antony & The Johnsons take Mercury prize

aaarghh! i was going to do that and never did :-(

Re: Reading/Leeds: Review

i thought it was meant to be a celebration of West Indian/ Caribbean culture...rather than being defined by island?

Re: Radiohead keep studio diary

yeah that would be ace

Radiohead keep studio diary

i'd love it if they surprised everyone and did a monster of a rock album, but suitably skewed and unpredictable of course, just taking the text book and ripping it to shreds then putting it back together. i'd also like to hear them do something that sounded really optimistic, because all this James Blunt optimism is actually just depressing.

I still like to think Radiohead are the band who could save rock'n'roll....well from all the retrogressive straightforward 'THE' band school of rock....

Visa queue, coffee on you: old-school punks clash

what you neglected to mention was that The Proclaimers were standing in the queue aswell and witnessed the whole thing! I shit you not (unless the Sun was lying...hmm)

Spit It Out! Slipknot tackle a Whopper

that website is brilliant...i like the way the bassist is called Freerange

Re: More bad news for Eminem: relatives sue

i think he's quite a good rapper actually, but he has got tired on record since 8 mile came out it seems

Pop justice! McFly to claim top spot

i read that James Blunt's real name is actually James Blount and his record company removed the 'O' to make him more "street and acessible to his fans". really!

Re: Back to Bluntdom: Your 'Beauty' Corrupted The Kids

"wombat's foreskin"

ha ha...brilliant

Re: Back to Bluntdom: Your 'Beauty' Corrupted The Kids

"and Idlewild’s ‘Idea Track’ had me jumping drunkenly from chairs in other peoples’ rooms in halls of residence that weren’t my own?"

deja vu!

Re: Jackson: not so essential in the US

yeah, he actually looks like this now doesn't he:

:+(

Further Franz Fun-facts: LP renamed

what a rubbish name for an album...

but still excited for new single and all....

Re: Patrick Wolf releases arrest statement

i heard from a reliable source he's not anymore. Although the person's reaction to him telling them was "er, patrick, what the fuck?"

Pharrell to score Eighties robot movie

is it true The Transformers is one of the movies Pete Doherty and Elton John are doing the theme songs for? Along with Thundercats and He-Man. I keep hearing this rumour!

Madonna Hung Up over new single

what a rubbish name for an Album....didn't Sophie Ellis Bextor call hers that? Least that's what it sounds like.

I don't mind Madonna - the last album was bull-sheet- please don't rap on this one madge

Re: MTV announces Video Music Awards nominees

i kinda like the Amerie song actually. but whatever Gasolina is it sounds terrible

MTV announces Video Music Awards nominees

hold on ..in the coldplay video don't the band just play in front of some big lights or something?

Re: MTV announces Video Music Awards nominees

seconded.

it's like Bernard Matthews Turkey Twizzlas - there is no turkey in them!

Re: Mercury Music Prize Nominations Announced

but still...k t tunstall....it's not like they'd ever have nominated Natalie Imbruglia for it...oh, but if she could play guitar...well then!

Re: Mercury Music Prize Nominations Announced

oh...yeah...d'uh

Re: Michael and Mazza to take music biz breaks

I think Monster is my favourite R.E.M. album too

I think only the recent album has completely terribly walked off course, though i do accept Reveal and Up weren't the classics people were hoping for. Having said that after repeated listening Reveal has alot to, er, reveal, if you stop waiting for a "fast" song.

Mercury Music Prize Nominations Announced

I'd like M.I.A. to win.

As much as i like Bloc Party, and i know the Magic Numbers, Coldplay, Kaiser Chiefs etc have the popularity, i feel M.I.A. or maybe Anthony & The Johnsons are singular creatives doing something slightly different within their loose "genres" who perhaps need the recognition a bit more. Especially Anthony come to think of it.

However i've never heard Polar Bear or Seth Lakeman. KT Tunstall is alarmingly average though. Haven't they heard of Martha Wainwright?

Re: One Big WHORE

Snow White are a band...i take it not all of the members can make it...hence Severed White?

Re: To Be Blunt: CHARTATTACK!

i hadn't really thought about that - companies marketing music so much that people buy it regardless of whether they really like it.

Liek when Norah Jones first popped up on TV adverts, i really liked the 5 second clip of that song about the sun she does and was quite happy hearing it between Big Brother or something. But the actual song was really rubbish apart from the clip. Not to mention the album.

It's the same with Bluntman here, there's just nothing to him- at all. advertising for him started way before his music came out? It's bizarre.

Franz Ferdinand announce well-titled new LP

i think the artwork is meant to be green and purple or something so i suppose this will be the Green album if anything....i have no idea why i know that

I Predict a Re-release

ha ha i just read the Every Day I love You Less And Less single review...

"As long as they don't re-release I predict a riot..."

London: Advice on events

REM postponed to Saturday 16 july x

hope everyone is ok......x

TOTP - BBC1 = BBC2 Sunday Slot

jeremy clarkson makes me want to rip my face off

Live8 not about publicity? Backstage Pete bigs up demo...

i don't really see the big deal with record companies advertising their bands' albums after said bands' biggest possible live performance. Of course they're going to try to sell more albums- it's called business....

Avril and Deryck, sitting in a tree...
