there was a night called Goo at the Metro in Melbourne.

it's on thursday nights. had a good time when i went there. that was 5 years ago though.

great news

Both their albums have been excellent. Looking forward to this one very much.

does anyone care anymore

the first album had a few good songs but the second was crap based on the singles.,

so The Tears

didn't last long.

As it seems to be the trend at the moment, why don't they just reform Suede with the Dog Man Star line-up and make us all very happy.

Sad news

I do hope this is just a temporary hiatus for a year or so and that they'll be back again.

'Every Time A Teenager Listens To Drum & Bass A Rockstar Dies' is an awesome song with an even more awesome title.

Why stereotype a city...

of around 300,000 people? Yes, there are twats living here but there are twats that live everywhere. Nottingham is not the nicest city in the world but it'scertainly not the worst.

I think Win seemed really happy once he had calmed down and was wandering around in the crowd.

we are...

talking about the same song,right?

to be fair..

the last album had a few good songs on... well a couple... well one.

A great shame

One of the great legends of 80s electro-pop. Blue Monday and True Faith are among their legacies. Siren's Call was a bit of mess but Get Ready had some great songs.

good luck to him

It's a shame though as I like his guitar work with Secret Machines.

Good news about the new album though.

Does anyone know if Brandon or Josh will be playing guitar or if they are considering a replacement?

You mean 120 Minutes?

I've discovered..
A: Loads of bands/artists i'd never heard of before and
B: Stuff that people on DiS have raved about but hadn't yet heard. I.E A win-win situation. I sit there with a notepad jotting down band names!

I occasionally buy Music Week and local fanzines.

A sad loss

He may not have made much music but what he did make stood the test of time and will continue to do so.

I'm going to put on "See Emily Play" as a tribute.

Re: Blunt is broke

Blunt may not be a cunt (that's going a bit far in my opinion,he's not evil per se) but he is a tosser for making comments like that and his so-called music that for some reason a lot of the nation think is great.

He is the 21st Century Chris De Burgh.

Blunt is broke

'You're beautiful, you're beautiful,I saw your face in a crowded place and I don't know what to do' or some such bollocks.

Tosser. My heart bleeds.

M83

I'm seeing them tomorrow night at Rescue Rooms. i hope they just had a bad day. I've not seen them live before.

The Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)

This is not even the best song on the album and it's still brilliant.

I have yet to see them live :-( I hope they do another UK tour. Please come to Nottingham, guys.

Kaiser Chiefs - Every Day I Love You Less And Less

Best song on the album.Great album opener.

Coldplay - Speed Of Sound

Sure it may sound a little similar to Clocks but it's a great tune and 4 minute 48 is a great length for a single like that.I'm looking to the club reaction.

The Aussies and the Americans have been really getting into this band on a big scale and I don't think this song will dissapoint.

Re: Drunken nights, lagered fights - what's your favourite indie night?

Rescued is pretty cool if you don't go too often. It gets boring quickly.

Special mention to Crash on Tuesdays at The Rig as I dj there.

Join the Dots and see Ladytron, The Rakes and a host of others...

Excellent news.That looks like a great line-up.

Re: Editors - Munich

Saw them there too. Excellent live.very danceble (sp).

I think they're going to have a great year.

Secret Machines - The Road Leads Where It's Led

A damn good song but is it really worth releasing a year after the album came out?

New Oasis album - Gallagher does track by track for DiS

New single is alright. Nothing special.Intrigued to hear the album especially with some of those dodgy song titles,

and D'You Know What I Mean is a great song.

New Order - Waiting For The Siren's Call

Morning Night And Day is a great song. As is Who's Joe? (very good intro) and Krafty. I Told You So is pretty bad.The rest is just pleasant songs that sound like New Order and there's nothing wrong with that.

They're still one of the best singles bands of the last 25 years though.

Tom Vek - We Have Sound

Really looking forward to hearing this. 'I Ain’t Saying My Goodbyes’ is brilliant.

Oasis reveal the Truth

They should have given up after Definitely Maybe then they could have left a debut album legacy like The LAs or Jeff Buckley.

Kaiser Chiefs - Employment

A great review. I agree that it is a pop album but with a very British sound, catchy choruses, lyrics that don't need to be analysed and no pretension.

Overall a very good album but overhyped in the media and may not appeal to everyone. I give it 7 out of 10.

Stereophonics - Dakota

It's definitely a great song compared to Step On My Old Size Nines et al.

Shall be interesting to see what the indie clubs make of it.

Engineers - Forgiveness

chilled out and really nice but nothing special. I think Elbow are much better.

WE BELIEVE IN MUSIC (or why it’s really, really important that you buy the Bloc Party LP this week).

I downloaded it from Napster a couple of days ago.

Overall it's pretty good but not great. Maybe it'll grow on me after a couple of weeks.

Luno and Like Eating Glass are the 2 best non-singles imo.

I've always liked Banquet though.

Athlete - Tourist

Not heard the first album but think Wires is a really nice song.Nothing earth shattering, just good enough for background music.

will be interested to hear more, based on this very good review.

Thirteen Senses - Thru The Glass

They're not too bad live in a very small venue but the songs are a tad dull sometimes. Not as dull as Keane though.

This is a stand-out song from a very uninspiring album.

The Killers - Somebody Told Me

It's not a bad song but I've heard it far too many times already

All These Things that I've Done is their best song imo.

Razorlight - no more albums?

Razorlight suck and Johnny Borrell is a pretentious wanker.

Secret Machines - New York's Best Kept Secret

I shall be the Interpol gig tomorrow night hoping to see Secret Machines again.

They're a very talented group. Loads of hypnotic grooves and catchy tunes.

New Order offer sweet return

Good title. I thought Get Ready was excellent. especially Crystal and Someone Like You.

I've heard a rumour that it may take on a more dance direction.

Hope they play Nottingham or Sheffield.

Delays - Lost In A Melody / Wanderlust

I like it. You can dance to it and it's got a good tune. what more do you need?
