Found it very underwhelming at first
But its amazing how much the song grows on you, bring on the album.
That is a really vulgar and spiteful review
Not that I'm a fan of Harris or anything, I think he sucks. But God, that just makes for vile, scraping-the-bucket reading.
YAAAAAAAAAY!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
Look at the crowd
they lap it up. Bunch of heathen's. Moronic jackasses.
Hot Summer
What a bummer.
Horrible song
The most grating, explicitly twee vocals heard this year. I'll stick with The Little Ones.
This is how my list is looking thus far

5. The Bees - Octopus
6. Editors - An End Has A Start
7. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Baby 81

Wow, she's an alcoholic
Just like Amy Whinehouse!
The Mumm-Ra album deserved to place much higher
Especially if uninspired, one-trick trash like The Pigeon Detectives can get to 3.
I'll have to check out these guys
sounds as if I might like them.
Longwave are so much better
than these bunch of trip buster fools.
What on earth!!
This song came out three years ago and it's being released as a single now?! What kind of crazy label hijinks are at work here then?
Terrific singles band
Seriously, 'Not For All The Love In The World' has to be nominated for greatest song of the century award. Hopefully this time they can keep the quality consistent over a whole album.
Why...
...does Kev always give shit bands positive reviews?
First album was quality
Second one not so quality. Let's hope they return to form.
Yeah definitely. Howl is their masterpiece.
But this is a terrfic album nonetheless. Killing The Light, Weapon Of Choice, All You Do Is Talk and Am I Only are absolute stonkers.
I read that as Winona Ryder also
And I read the drummers name as Adam Fuck at first for some reason. True story.
I hope this album...
...has more of the ultra sullen melancholic tunes like NYC, Hands Away and Untitled that Antics so sorely lacked.
Terrible shame
One of the greatest bands to ever walk the Earth. They were superb.
I'm in a bad mood
I just heard the Head E.P. by TCTC and it sucks.
The lead single is run-of-the-mill shite
I really hope it's not representative of the rest of the album.
This song is awful
Really really really awful. Sounds like Mew gone twee or something. Po-faced bollocks.
John Earls of Planet Sound gave this 9/10
So I had to check it out immediately. I'm not convinced so far but it is growing on me.
...
So why did he piss on her?
Yeah it's pretty good
I wouldn't bust my nuts over it though.
Willy Mason gets 8
and Fields get 6. I think there's been a mix up.
This song is so shit even Oasis would relegate it to a b-side
They might get it right with the next album's lead single however, which is due for release this september.
Octopus is album of the month
Closely followed by Kubichek!
I've got no qualms with U2
They've got plenty of decent albums to their name so I'm not going to sit here and rip the shit out of them.
oi The Glory
Come here. No closer. Little bit closer. Just a teeeny bit more...OASIS ARE FUCKIN SHITE!
When is Bruce Campbell going to release an album?
He could sing about how awesome he is. And we could all nod our heads and stamp our feet in agreement.
Screw these guys!
Bring back The Vessels.
It sucks
I can call Johnny Borrell a horse face but I can't call Winehorse a moose face. WHATAWURLD!
Please please please
I hope he gets his schlong out.
Fair play to her, thats quite an achievement
But God she's ugly, I'm getting sick of her moose face. What is it with these ugly British birds doing well in America? Lady Sov, Lily Allen and now this alcoholic.
Alex...I love you!
I've been guilty of downloading the leaked version months ago (although I have it currently pre-ordered) and while Octopus was a crushing disappointment on first listen it has slowly revealed itself to be a gem of an album. It's just such sheer fun to listen too, the huge amount of instrumentation and genre clashes on offer only add to a good time. I had a huge hunch that Octopus was going to get slated on DiS so it's very pleasing to see quite the opposite. You're wrong about 'Who Cares What The Question Is?' though, surely it's an album highlight!
Holy titwank Batman!
I can't believe this song didn't get less than a 4! Not because I dislike it but Stay The Night is the sort of pop tune that would likely spark some immense vitriolic rant about how wet and bland it is. The fact that the review doesn't say such things makes it rather refreshing, if i do say so myself.
I was listening to this song earlier today
It's utterly fantastic, total overwrought gold.
Oh and er...
YAY! Editors!! Live!!!
You've got more money than sense
Sony treat the UK like shit, there's no way I'm spending £425 on a console when the yanks can buy one for half that.
Any song called Red River
has got to be good. I don't know why, I can just feel it deep down in my loins. It's gonna be a fantastic track.
I hope Antony Genn of The Hours is in this documentary
That guy is awesome and the reason that The Mescaleros formed.
I swear I saw a video on youtube once...
...that showed Borrell pointing his willy towards his mouth and drinking his own piss.
Oh you Black Rebels
How I love youuuuuuu
Oh why won't you tour in more venuuuuues
If the lead single is as good as Dakota
then I won't be complaining.
The album grows on me with each listen
This song is an obvious stand-out.
This band kicks arse
But 'Comfort Comfort' is a poor choice for single, they really should have gone with 'So Young And Beautiful'. Why is that track so criminally overlooked?!?!
