I'm glad Fast Fuse is on the next album,
its an absolute stonker of a tune.
Good
They were shit, worse than Enter Shikari.
New Acid Mothers Temple LP
Which one would that be? They release about 5 albums a year.
Good call dude
Probably the most amount of 'fun' I've had listening to an album this year. The crunching riffs, the broken english and the silly lyrics, they all add up to a hearty good time.
Brilliant news
Can't wait for this. Winning guests as well, Nada Surf and John Roderick will go together like beans and beer.
There's nothing wrong with Leaves
The second album was awesome, a real progression in the bands sound. Nowt wrong with Longview either! And Morning Runner were brilliant, I'll sorely miss them.
*breath
confound you Winehouse
Testing testing
Amy Whinehouse you are a bint
You're in desperate need of a mint
Cos I can smell your whorish breathe
Too harsh to ask for an early death?
u wat?!
I only know he's dead cos someone spoiled the ending of the film for me.
Fucking hell
That song is absolutely awful.
Fuck this review
The album is pop gold.
Its a bangin' album
Can't wait to get the essay and read up about what the songs mean.
I was heartbroken when I heard this
'Back To Earth' was brilliant because of it's hyperventilating, erratic post-punk. But now that style has been binned in favour of plodding, sub-Coldplay indie. I expected so much more. The planned 2006 bootleg version is ten times better.
Surprisingly funny ending to that vid
The album is lush, its a contest between Don't Fear, So Low So High and To The Sky for best song of the album and I still can't decide.
Based on the Planet Sound review
I checked this album out and I'm so glad I did, it's aural bliss.
Cor blimey
They are pretty damn risible aren't they.
Damn
I missed the last sentence there on the initial read. Egg on my face fo'sho.
This is news?!
Who the fuck is Stabby?
Cack
Tat
Tripe
Thats what they are.
Any chance of Soulwax...
releasing their own material some time soon?
This band is incredible
They sound like Thom Yorke fronting Modest Mouse yet are more deserving of just a mere comparison. 'Wires & Wool' is one of the best singles I've heard this year, the album should be spiffing stuff.
One year on...
and I'm still loving it, a giant leap from their debut.
I disregarded this album at first, on the basis that it being more of the same
Went back to it two weeks later and was amazed to find myself loving every song, its so concise that not a second is wasted. Terrific pop.
Thursday
really deserved a 10. Dream pop perfection.
Hells bells
I'll be going to this, I adore both those bands. On a side note, just how many singles have Kubichek! released from their (admitedly great) album?
Taxi
Opening Shot
Outwards
Nightjoy...twice!
Stutter
Method Acting
There's no more milk left guys, onto album number 2.
Are they taking the piss?!
Far superior band Brinkman released a single last year called Kirsten Dunst. Oooooooooooh, another reason to hate this band!!
One of the best releases of last year
Nigh-on masterpiece, a huge step forward from the okay/good debut.
Ten Silver Drops is awesome.
School Of Seven Bells are awesome.
Let's just leave it at that.
I can't believe you said...
'the nominations this year aren't so bad.'
ARGH!
Me too
Thats the only entry I'm genuinely happy about, it's such a great album.
Apart from Klaxons, The Young Knives and Maps...
this list is utter utter tripe. Arctic Monkeys? AGAIN?! Fuck off, they're shit. Where is TCTC, The Twilight Sad, Cherry Ghost, Fields or Kubichek!?
As ashamed as I am to admit it
I really like the new single, it's a rousing little number. Terrific outro as well. Sorry.
I was surprised by how good this album is
I avoided them at first because of all the NME hype but they actually deserves such high plaudits, this is fine pop.
'AVE IT MUSH!
Oh I cannot wait to get my Canadian pop fix from these guys.
9?!?!
Bloody hell, this album barely musters a 6. It's a turgid, repetitive rehashed collection of songs that completely ape Antics, with a pinch of added Danny Elfman on two songs. I love Interpol but seriously, this is silly. Pauk Banks could fart in a cave and all the critics would collectively praise his efforts.
Where is An End Has A Start?
It got a rave review, it deserves to be here.
I love Cornelius, quality artist
He's like a Japanese Beck or something.
A new Verve album on the way
Can't wait.
Never heard of these guys before
But I'm checking them out purely because that front cover is gorgeous.
therapyrock has hit the nail on the head
Thats what the Arctic monkeys essentially are...Babyshambles hailing from Yorkshire, i.e. complete fucking dross.
Awesome
October has never seemed so far away.
Gawd I knoooooow
I was being sarcastic, its hardly the stuff of taboo to include swear words in songs these days is it.
You neglected to mention
that 'Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors' got to number 7.
Its controversial because...
it has naughty words in it. And also because a song this good was so criminally ignored on its first release. Now thats controversy.
Awesome stuff Dom
I'm glad you were the one to review this terrific album. But no mention of the albums two best songs? 'When Anger Shows' and 'The Racing Rats' really showcase why this band is so special.
Yes, Editors are brilliant
The second album is stupendous, if they become one of the biggest bands of the year its only because they deserve to.
This song made me change my opinion of the band completely
Whereas before I chose to ignore them on the basis of the two previous average singles its the sheer windswept class of this song that makes me look forward to their forthcoming lp.
It's only illegal...
...if you share. Sharing your files is illegal. Sharing is bad, m'kay.
Couldn't you just download the Twang album off of soulseek?
Then you could rip it all you want. Hey presto, bob's your uncle. Swayze.

Such an unusual yet infectious sound they have.
