I fell in love with FF at Reading

and this album so doesn't dissapoint. Strobe is so beautiful and I spend half my day singing "climbing on climbing on board! giving it a little bit more"

And In the Hospital has a funky flute. I have decided an underrated instrumental choice

This album is so surprisingly good

I expected it to be a letdown, such is my disdain for the industry in these troubled music times, but I was so surprised and pleased with it.

And they have a song inspired by Lairs Clb, which is indeed a kickass club night

Good for Elbow

There were so many deserving winners this year, but The Seldom Seen Kid is so unassumingly brilliant. I listened to it 3 times before I realised that it was actually a work of genius. Elbow are often overlooked as a band, so it would be good to have the recognition for them.

The shortlist is always frustrating

But there are some good shouts on there. I'd like Neon Neon to win, but I can see Adele, British Sea Power or The Last Shadow Puppets getting it. Shame that there are some good ones missing. Portishead and M.I.A are quite blatant stupid omissions, but I'm also sad to see a lack of the Guillemots (a great album of diverse, but lovely pop songs influenced by many genres) and Lightspeed Champion (great modern lyrics on surgy sweet but dark songs), to name but a few.

Lets face it though, it's probably a good thing these people weren't nominated as we all know Mercury music prize means the death of most bands-I pray it happens to the Klaxons

I don't want to pass judgement on Lyndon or Kele

As I know neither, I couldn't say how they act, but this sounds like an appauling thing to happen.

But the idea of the indie community stepping up to defend one of their own like sown sort of pack of zebras is so adoreable it makes me squee. Yannis seems a bit mental, I imagine he'd be good at defence. And Ricky's from Leeds, so you know he can kick ass. I wish Harmar got involved, you know he could pull out some moves. And the mystery jets could probably confuse the opponents to thinking they've travelled back into the 80s.

I see new reality TV show "IndieWars" - indie superstars battle it out to win the ultimate prize. Hosted by Simon Amstell and Alexa Chung

Good Points Mike

Well made too, If I hear one more Indie obsesses shithead bitching over the fact Jay-Z is headlining I swear I will get very very angry. The type of people complaining are clearly the ones who don't realise that Glasto has never been exclusive to any type of music that is its joy, its about enjoying things you might not always like as much as anything you love. And £160 is no more exspensive than a weekend ticket to Reading so I don't see what the big issue is there. It seems people are just exploiting its weakness cause they can when the simple fact is that the reason sales aren't as rapid are the fact that so many god festivals are about these days that Glasto is no longer so major. I mean it is as an institution and an experience, rather than simply to see big names. I still would love to go to Glasto one year (as soon as I can find friends willing to go somewhere other than reading/leeds) because I want to experience it-everyone in the world who likes music is aware of Glastonbunry that is how important it is as a festival. In my opinion, the overly complicated ticket process before any knowledge of ANY line up, release date later than other festivals, being set during exam period and now the loss of the lost vaugeness are all things that are causing loss in sale-not the price, not the lineup, not the mud (not that much anyway), Glastonbury is Glastonbury, just because theres a few thousand tickets still available doesn't mean its no longer one of the best festivals on the planet

How dare you

I will destroy anyone who mocks Patrick.

The stronger darker stuff makes me hope for more Wind in the Wires style beats (Tristan!!), but the Folk inspiration is also exciting

Cannot Wait!

Please Shut Up

I have exams
I cant go
:(

I am amazed

by Grizzly bear. I bought Yellow House after hearing good reviews, and at first thought it was weird but it completly washes over you-you become obsessed with its beauty wihout even realising you're listening.

Knife is genius. Buy Yellow House

Not that bad

Klaxons aren't all that bad. Myths...isn't that bad, its got alot of catchy songs and only a few are poor. They, like so many other bands [Arctic Monkeys for one] have just suffered from too much hype. They're just one of the many sufferers of being raped by the NME.
Plus Nu-Rave is just wrong. They are not nu-rave or even vaugely raveish. They just make catchy songs.
But playing glasto twice? Just trying to be a bit show off-y really.

Good...

I thought they played pretty well. Ive never considered Rock City to be the best of venues, and it was obvious that lots of people were there just because of hype, and didnt really get what was going on. But I thought they did a good job, Fyfes version of we're here was amazing, and I quite liked the newer stuff, I like the larger inclusion of electronic sounds. And lets face its, fyfes always been a fan of high pitched songs. I love, was it '21st May' you said-my friend had been raving about that song I thought it was beatifully ludacris. Obviously the crowd got more into it during the singles but thats to be expected, unless you other posters have never been to gigs before! Sao Paulo was as usual a spectacle, and I loved A Samba through the snowy rain/through the windowpane that opened the show.

I saw them in June around the corner at the rescue rooms. Ill admit I prefer that gig, it was full of more apreciative fans and when fyfe played blue would still be blue solo (better than were here btw) the room was silent and it was beautiful. But they were still amazing here too. Good on the guillemots-they're the most original band Ive heard in years and I continue to be impressed by the large amount o work theyre accumulated.
