I'm gonna go for

Limbo, Panto.

Why it's b)

Robert Wadlow.

I really hope he wasn't referring to me at the London gig.

They were better at Glasto, but still a pretty good gig I thought.

It's brilliant.

After literally hours of debate (with myself), I've decided it's their second best.

Sorry, I know it's been said,

but this review is fucking brilliant.

Is it just me

or does that cover look a lot like I Am Kloot's Gods and Monsters?

this = brilliant

The album really can't come soon enough.

She did indeed play Glasto

Kieran Hebdon was watching. We chatted. Well I chatted, he just looked a bit scared of how much I knew about his life. Kate Nash was alright though.

This just reminds me of Nathan Barley

A combination of Jonattan Yeah? and his line in a TV interview, "I hope we haven't offended absolutely everyone." I sincerely hope they're tongue in cheek.

"Money don't make my world go round,

I'm reaching out to a higher ground". "Is that a philosophy?".

Big fan of this.

But can someone tell me why 'Phoenix' should be spelt 'Pheonix' please?

Not. Very.

Good.

Does anyone else think of Citroen

adverts when they hear that godawful 'Acceptable in the Eighties' pap? Fuck him, Bloc Party have tonnes of tunes.

It's clearly not a three out of ten is it

Come on. It may not be as good as their earlier singles, but it gets better the more you hear it. My major qualm with it is that it sounds to me like it should have been in Nick Love's 'The Business, but then maybe that's just me.

The album's ok, a bit disappointing but very listenable. I have a horrible feeling they may end up like The Futureheads did though...

I saw Scroobius Pip performing outside

DJ Shadow's album launch thingy months ago. He was pretty cool, and had a hilarious flyer with a quote from Westwood on it. Needless to say, he wasn't a fan.

I have tickets!!!!

And you should all be eternally jealous. Now all I need to do is set up an Ebay account...

Kidding!

Fucking Reading

I lived off London Road (the one-way street bit) last year and was robbed six times in a year. Twice in one night. And no, I didn't get invited to some sexy party after it all.

Some really, really great albums out at the moment.

I can't remember another month or whatever with so much great new stuff out. Yndi Halda = top, The Shins = top, Jamie T = fucking top, and don't get me started on Bloc Party - I know, I know, it's February already, but I've listened to it to 8 times in 2 days. This has never happened to me before.

'...inferring that estranged frontman Tim Booth (pictured) had rejoined his bandmates.'

Don't I infer and you imply? Not just me obviously, but implication is with the speaker and inference is with the listener. Isn't it?

Good news about Crowded House, Four Seasons in One Day is a peach of a song. My dad will be pleased.

I read this as

Scissor Sisters fans "soul-sucking," says Dido, thinking she'd finally said something interesting. Shame on me for being so stupid.

"Battle Jelly Donut,

Battle Jelly Donut". That's how I'll always think of her.

Totally agree, smoglet

It's the same with Lily Allen; I think the album's good with weak moments, i.e neither love nor hate. Not heard The Hold Steady yet, so this isn't really relevant...sorry.

Good interview,

He sounds like a cool guy. Only one complaint; there's a typo in the title - shouldn't it be The Shins'? Sorry to be a pedant, I just can't help help myself.

Esio Trot

are ace, very charming and endearing. Liking the first 45 seconds of Mother Vulpine too. Great feature, cheers Mike.

Here's mine:

1.65daysofstatic - Radio Protector
2.Beirut - Postcards From Italy
3.Regina Spektor - Samson
4.The Maccabees - First Love
5.The Mystery Jets - You Can't Fool Me Dennis
6.Fionn Regan - Put A Penny In The Slot
7.Final Fantasy - Many Lives for 49MP
8.Cortney Tidwell - I Do Not Notice
9.be your own PET - Adventure
10.Nina Nastasia - Why Don't You Stay Home

Tracks it hurts me to leave out:
The Long Blondes - Weekend Without Make-up
TV On The Radio - I Was A Lover
Hot Chip - Over and Over
Volcano! - Easy Does It
Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan - Deus Ibi Est

Where in God's name

is 'Making Dens' by The Mystery Jets? Did I miss something? That was out this year, and made the "Top 66" of the last 6 years, so what gives?

Incidentally, of the above it's clearly Beirut.

The album is a lot different

to what I was expecting after "Werewolves in the City". It's slower, more personal. Which is no bad thing, just different is all.

"That Was The Worst Christmas Ever!!"

Wrong tense, sorry. So very embarrassing.

At the Barbican he played one of this called

"This is the Worst Christmas Ever" - worth owning just for the title. The song was brilliant too, natch.

All Angels

were one of the featured artists in National Music Week; I should know as I run the helpline. Big up myself. I don't think they did all that great, but then in a competition Lil' Chris won, maybe that's a good thing.

Saw them on Tuesday

at the Tap n' Tin. They were pretty good, but only played for about 25 minutes. The godawful local band supporting them played for longer than they did (well, at least that's how it felt).

Interesting interview.

He sounds grown up, but then I suppose he would do. I met him at the album launch thing, I got him to sign the inside of my copy of Endtroducing, and then shut his finger inside the case when he was giving it back. Really embarrassing, but he was very good about it.

that's really, really sad,

despite how good malcolm's solo albums are (haven't heard aidan's). Why can't we have both? First Big Weekend really was one of the singles of the last decade.

Hot summer, hot hot summer!

What about the Young Knives? What's not to love? Have to agree about Fionn Regan,'Put a Penny in the Slot' is especially ace.

Clearly not, God willing,

but there are fifty states and he's recorded and released just two of them over a three year period. At that rate it would take another 72 years (i think) before he's actually completed the whole thing. Sorry to be so darn literal, but I think it warrants it.

I think

drawing special attention to the single/album/live act of the day/week/month would be a good idea. Other than that I can't think of anything that would really improve the site. Without sounding too sycophantic, it's hard to make something already so good better.

How

is he ever going to be able to write and record all fifty states if he keeps releasing this other stuff? Not that I'm complaining particularly, just curious.
