Hailing from the west coast of America, you'd half expect The Little Ones to be purveyors of happy-go-lucky, suncharming tunes about birds, love, butterflies, love, bees, love and, well, love.
Thankfully, they're not that stomach-churning. Instead, the five-piece follow a similar path to the likes of The Spinto Band in that they probably spent their formative years listening to classic REM and Flaming Lips records rather than raiding mum and dad's CD collection. As a result, 'Oh, MJ!' is a carefully crafted piece of alt-pop that doesn't quite know whether to get up in the morning and do 50 sit-ups or just bury its head under the duvet and leave the curtains closed 'til midday at least.
One thing is for certain, though: whoever the MJ in question is (Mick Jagger? Michael Jackson? Milla Jovovich? MJ Hibbett?), he/she/it has given these Little Ones a touch of divine inspiration. So keep up the good work MJ, wherever and whoever you may be.

it's superb, as is the EP.
The Little Ones
I saw this band at The Dublin Castle last night. They were great, as good live as on record. They were also irrepresibly cheerful and lovely. It is impossible to dislike them! Great single too.
There can only be one MJ surely?
