Aww man, this shit is old news -* The Faint*'s time in the post-punk-funk sunrays has come and gone. That being the case, why does this still sound so sweet?

Why? It's the uncomplicated-ness of it all - the beats are primal and raw, the vocals appropriately desperate and debauched, and the overall effect is comparable to being licked across the face by an elderly Dutch hooker - immediately repulsive but kinda cool. No? Well, whatever - 'Desperate Guys' sluttily struts its way through its three-minute duration without a shred of regard for the day's approved musical styles.

A Zongamin remix offers some value for money, but - truth be told - there's not much point in Wet From Birth owners forking out for this again. Newcomers, though, are advised to check it out, even if it is a quick cash-in on The Faint's current tenure as Bright Eyes' backing band.

The Faint - Desperate Guys

Single of the week, surely tho?

Re: The Faint - Desperate Guys

Well tis good.
But I like Pipettes better, this week.

The Faint - Desperate Guys

The faint should be so huge but sadly it will never happen, they should just sell out and show the killers and bravery how its done.

Re: The Faint - Desperate Guys

Ha! This is very true! I'm glad they've remained fairly low key to be honest though. Wouldn't be the same seeing them play big venues.

Re: The Faint - Desperate Guys

I think they played manumision (sic?) in ibiza once, that would have been pretty good.

Re: The Faint - Desperate Guys

oh and is this single actually out? ive yet to see it anywhere- online included, not even saddle creeks store.

Re: The Faint - Desperate Guys

Yeah, I noticed that.
Weird. Maybe the release date's been pushed back?
