They released this track not nine months ago, and it only, ONLY got into the lower reaches of the top 40. How dare they! The people! Foolish idiots, they clearly know nothing, and now The Killers** are to release ‘Somebody Told Me’ again (slew of crap dance remixes included), just so you realise that you made a stupid mistake and that it is, in fact a No.1 record in all but chart placing, and hopefully you’ll rectify that as well…

…which is probably what they’re thinking up at Killers Towers. Not realisation obviously, that ‘STM’ is simply a piece of very danceable but ultimately hackneyed dancefloor indie. But I guess, what with that big headline tour coming up, and the extra exposure they’re now getting, they’ve got to capitalise on their fortune.

New hype and new audience however, doesn’t stop the single sounding like weird moments of Republica and Rick Witter touching up Pulp. Because it does and always will. Don’t overreach ladies and gentlemen, you’ll end up straining something…

Commendably though, they haven't even pretended to change the record cover in ANY WAY whatsoever... and that's a credit to their 'same as last time' asses.

this is such a pointless re-release, it's not like it didn't do well the first time. havn't they released mr brightside twice as well?

Yeah, although 'Mr. Brightside' was a limited release, and it's their only good song, so re-releasing that was understandable. This just takes the piss though...'Somebody Told Me' was top 20 the last time! And it's crap!

The CD-1 version of the single features a new b-side Show You How. The old b-side from the June release was Under The Gun and it was much better than a lot of the stuff on the album.

I bought this the first time round after my band supported them. Very disappointing. Oooo, dya think the original will sell on ebay? It's a 7" with a free poster and a gatefold. Any takers??

Love the comparison to Shed 7. God, they sucked.

love the killers...love the album..and love most of the tracks...seeing them on the NME gig in just over a week, and cant wait...yeah ive heard theyre crap live, but hey i dont care...i just love the music...

I really like the Killers - sure, the tail end of the album is a bit weak, but this tune is, if you excuse the cheap pun, killer. Can't blame them at all for milking the NME crowd- hope it goes top ten.

They shouldn't have changed the b-sides, Under The Gun is one of their best songs, infact, I'd say it's their second best song (nothing can stop the might that is Mr Brightside).

I agree with Aidan 78 here, their other two main singles get played most and All These Things That I've Done is ignored a bit. Anyway I've now got Hot Fuss on my computer cos a friend's sister lent it to her and I copied it. Which means I save a tenner.

ATTTID is a good track but theres something about Mr Brightside that i really like. makes it my fave song of theirs

Os this the 400th time they've released the same track.

:/ its getting rather disppointing.

Love there music, all the songs are great but wish they would start with new stuff already. It's a bit boring when i already bought that single the first time it came out. Nevermind. Brilliant band!
