Listless? Bored? Don’t know what to do now that Courtney Love’s had her solo album put back (indefinitely)? Well, help is at hand; let us prescribe you a large dosing of The Distillers.
The reason why ‘love-rat’ (copyright, bizarrely, The Sun) Brody Dalle is being compared to the high princess of alt.insanity is threefold; she has the same trash-beauty aesthetic – all the rock boys really fancy her; she has already mastered that whole rock n’ roll ‘fuck off’ veneer; and thirdly, my God this band really sound like Hole, don’t they? Slightly punkier, perhaps, but The Distillers’ third album sees the band evolve from thrashcore punk to MTV-friendly alt.rock. We used to call it grunge, y’know.
‘Drain the Blood’ is an infectious hi-speed freeway chase of a song with a killer chorus and more top wailing than a Wayne’s World gig scene. Add to that brilliantly caustic lyrics like “I never met a pearl quite like you / who could shimmer and rot at the same time through”, and it’s time to anoint the new queen of LA glitter litter. All hail, all hail…

The Distillers 'r' still an alryte band in my opinion...just kuz they're gettin' playededed on MTV, doesn't make 'em bad...kuz bands like Nirvana got really popular 'n' were played on MTV...but th@ didn't make 'em bad - the popularity of a band doesn't change the way their music sounds...bands like the White Stripes have #1 albums 'n' their singles do quite well aswell...but th@ doesn't mean th@ just kuz the preps think they're kewl, they suddenly bkum un-kewl!

I dont think that bcuz a band changs its style of music all of u have to crucify it...i dont like it either that they have gotten away a little frm all their old punk screaming stuff, now theyre more mainstream, doesnt mean the preps like them.... in my opinion theyre still f.u.c.k.i.n.g. awesome and pls stop comparing brody with that biatch courtney love, i dislike rancid too and all of them suck a.s.s, THE DISTILLERS STILL ROCK!!!!

I hate the distillers. I think that complaring brody's work to kurt cobain is disgraceful. nirvana was and still is one of the best bands ever, and if you compare the name brody dalle to kurt cobain, you are putting shame to the name of one of the cooest guys in history, and by the way, if it wasn't for rancid, and tim armstong, the distillers wouldn't even exist.

yeh Distillers rock. yeh they probably wouldn't have got where they are today without Tim Armstrong. well they would have been somewhere... but yeh, a band's music is all about the experiences they have. Brody being married to him might just have influenced the music slightly...
Coral Fang is alright. it's good but not as good Sing Sing Death House. they say that Coral Fang is a 'f*** you' album. i think that's bull - Sing Sing is so much more 'f** you'!! rrrraahh :(
