This, the third single from Orton’s exceptional ‘Daybreaker’ LP, is sadly spoilt by a pretty soulless radio remix from Everything But The Girl's Ben Watt. The original had a pleasant, hushed vibe to it, but this 'peps' up a track which doesn’t need it.
It’s not like it’s going to get daytime airplay or spun in clubs, and there were much better tracks available to choose for single release. This seems a pretty pointless exercise.
On a non-musical side note, this 1 track promo has Copy Control technology. I tried it to play it in my PC and it offered to download something onto my PC. No thanks.
Now Beth, you’d have been better off putting the Roots Manuva and the Four Tet remix on the promo single instead of this. Who’d wanna copy this anyway? Get the LP and skip this sub par release.
