As if Florida wasn't hot enough already, Tampa natives The Washdown invite you to sweat a little more. Their self-titled debut EP is a six-song twangy guitar rock workout taught by Iggy Pop. Guitar riffs are distorted, and hooks are branded into your brain. You may even start to lose weight as you jump around like a tubby fool. A promising debut that borrows from past instructors like MC5 and The Stones drips with the sweat of potential and a sense of greater things to come. As for a beginners class, though The Washdown may use synthetic means, they still produce some pretty good results.
