I’m beginning to worry about the prog-rock tendencies of The Phil Collins 3, as the last track on this 8-track demo is a massive, epic, 1 min 37 seconds long. Perhaps it’s the Black Sabbath piss-take/tribute at the start which pushes it over the edge.
In any case, the Brighton four-piece know what they want to say, and say it fast. Be it “chicken nutsack… chicken nutsack” repeated over and over, and other classics such as ‘John Craven’s Paper Round’ and ‘I Love Phillipa Collins’ - musically they’re all over the shop.
No, they’ve obviously not your ‘normal’ band. They don’t have singers, they have “screamers” (for want of a better word). They dress up in homemade costumes onstage and are generally a bit… odd. Odd, yes, fucking fantastic? Yes.

The Phil Collins 3 - demo
They are shite, just downloaded some tracks. PLEASE don't hype them, they don't deserve it!
Re: The Phil Collins 3 - demo
We're not "hyping" them.
They're hilarious live. I didn't get it just hearing them either.
They're playing a dis gig, if you're in london, come check 'em out. We don't get money from these gigs, btw, just like people to come to see great live music.

Who does DESERVE it then?
Re: The Phil Collins 3 - demo
On the bands website there is a link to a radio session which sounds much better than on the tracks on the site. I think the downloadable tracks are quite interesting, like old Trumans Water stuff or Polvo with a bit of Royal Trucks in there too. I think you'd better stick to reading about the libertines in NME if you think anything you don't like is shit and others should not hear it. The best thing about this site is the variety in the acts thatr are covered, I'm going to go see the phil collins people anyway.
