Re: Papa Roach - LoveHateTragedy
what, dyou think it's worth wasting any more words than that on their new piece of shit?
Re: Papa Roach - LoveHateTragedy
just unprofessionalism
Re: Papa Roach - LoveHateTragedy
*speechless*
Re: Papa Roach - LoveHateTragedy
Yeah, but do you really want guardian style journalism? come on. I thought the review was funny, and most likely accurate (haven't heard the new one)
Re: Papa Roach - LoveHateTragedy
Well said! That's exactly what I thought when I heard 'She loves me not'...some lame middle aged guy with loadsa money, a wife, kid, pretty fortunate u'd say, complaining about life being unfair and that no1 loves him...not that he's trying to empathise with all the mini grungers and steal all their pocket money, no no, course not.
Re: Papa Roach - LoveHateTragedy
Exactly my sentiments, but arguing with papa roach fans over it is harder than you'd think with the "it could of been a time in his past"..... oooh how deep.
Papa Roach - LoveHateTragedy
gaah! i liked the review Raz, but a little harsh at the same time...hmm a bit like Steve Wells from the eNeMiEs
Papa Roach - LoveHateTragedy
What a piece of shite of a review. I'm no big papa roach fan, and I haven't heard the new album, but to write a review that short and even then only comment on the lyrics side of things is just lame.
Why can't people on this site just write bloody straight forward reviews of stuff?

side point:
Swells' singles reviews each month in Metal HAmmer are the funniest [and most spot-fucking-on] things i have read in the rock/indie press for........oh, it feels like far too long. That [and Kulkani's pieces] are often th eonly things worth picking up that mag for
Swells can write lazily sometimes, [he fell into that trap with his nme stuff for far too long several years back, however when when he's on form [see above] he's deadly and a joy to read......[esp with the current standard of journalism in, lets say, nme...]

Re: Papa Roach - LoveHateTragedy
A lot of magazine reviews wouldn’t be that much longer than this anyway. And as none of us are employed, professional writers with a specific style of writing to adhere to, we're all constantly trying out new approaches to reviews to see what does and doesn't work.
Everyone knows about Papa Roach and has an opinion on them. It would have been easy to spiel out 300 words on the album being boring Nu Metal crap. As it is, it's simple and open-ended. And judging by the amount of comments already, I think it's worked quite nicely! Least it’s not long and boring…

Re: Papa Roach - LoveHateTragedy
fairs enough, i accept the first part. but its hardly an album review is it? there must be some nice riffs in there somewhere even if the lyrics are a pile of crap? maybe im missing the point.
anyway... be nice to me i gave blood today...
