The Pigeon Detectives: I'm Not Sorry

With more tunes than the counter of a pharmacy and a way with words that wouldn't delight the grand old dukes of Shakespearian grammar, but to the rest of the population sound like good food and wine, The Pigeon Detectives look set to be this year's surprise package that not even the most switched on of A&R men could have predicted.

If you haven't heard this already, 'I'm Not Sorry' is as loud and excitable a kiss-off as your ex is ever likely to receive. Think The Cribs after six pints of Theakston's Old Peculier and a chicken tikka mix from Kebabish and you're on the right track.

It's the b-side though where things really get interesting. 'I'm Always Right' has been blurring out of many a radio station's speakers for a little while now and is surely set to be the underground's feel good hit of this spring. With a guitar hook to die for and gratuitous instinctive terrace chanting a-go-go throughout, this really is one of the most delightfully infectious records you'll hear all year.

stupid vinyl

i want a goddam cd release. argh.

I Love Vinyl

And these songs are lovely too

Ho hum

I was just thinking 'Ooh this sounds interesting' then 'But it's probably only available on vinyl'. Just like the new Dead! Dead! Dead! single.

Why???

Cause vinyl...

is more exclusive. Plus it looks a hell of a lot better than a cd.

no it doesn't

& it sounds like ass.

& for those who aren't cool enough to have a turntable, you can still hear the songs on their website. good stuff.

if your vinyl sounds like 'ass'

then you have an issue with your turntable.

vinyl...

always sounds better on my system than cd's. has more depth to it.

certainly haven't bought a cd single since the 90's, if it ain't out on vinyl i don't buy it.

More exclusive..

I can understand that, I suppose. And I guess it adds to the cost if you get vinyl and CDs pressed rather than just one or the other.

vinyl > cd

i just find CD more practical usually, shame really. Plus vinyl looks/feels/plays goooorgeous.

Not sure about this song. Not heard it much but it doesn't seem to be the best of the DTTR bunch...ah well. We'll see.

I 3> these.

Lovely song.

I can't believe it

these guys are kaiser light wank, in two months this sites gonna hate them.

boring, boring, boring indie...think the cribs with the personality ocean colour scene.

Yep

I had the misfortunate to witness this pile of wank the other night. A7R all over them. Arrogant, SUB Killers/Strokes SHIT. It made me so mad that other great bands are ignored

Loads better...

than a kick in the bollox. Good work fellas
