You know that freaky Evian advert, with babies inside the drops of spring-fresh mineral water? It creeps me the fuck out. But it doesn’t make me feel as weird as this, the first release by LA’s The Icarus Line for what feels like forever, does.

Y’see, on the one hand I hate it. I hate what this does to my head, making me feel like a part-cooked microwave meal; melted on the inside but ice-cold on the outside. But on the other it makes me horny as fuck; like leering at Rachel Leigh Cook in her smalls doing the hippy-hippy shake on a mattress to the sound of Iggy and the Stooges. I don’t know whether to run to the doctors or make a dash for the toilet for a sweaty five-knuckle shuffle. What I do know is that this is as dirty as punk rock gets, full stop, and if anyone thought that The Icarus Line were gonna compromise anything for their new major-affiliated label, well, ‘Up Against The Wall Motherfuckers’ (limited to a mere 1,500 copies!) is their spunk in your eye. And it’s hotter than the insides of my head.

Someone, please, cool me off. I’ll take on those babies now if need be, providing these west coast misfits haven’t killed, fucked, or eaten them first.

The Icarus Line - Up Against The Wall M*therf*ckers

Where can you buy it from?

Re: The Icarus Line - Up Against The Wall M*therf*ckers

They're on V2 now, so when it's out, pretty much every indie-store and all the chains can order it (as it's limited to 1,000 i suggest ordering it asap)

Re: The Icarus Line - Up Against The Wall M*therf*ckers

I'm not sure, but I think you can get it from shows, which means advance!

But I might be thinking of a totally different band. Since they're on V2, it seems unlikely they'll have copies for the tour.

It's the goddam BOMB I tell you. Although Hey Colossus' new album is almost as good - review coming asap!

..and if you like the single, they were impressively energetic supporting Primal Scream the other day. Worth seeing!
