Delays: Long Time Coming
Oh fuck. Now you’ve gone and done it. “Stop sounding like Geneva”, you said: “Be cool”, you whinged. “Bland nineties indie toss” you shouted.
And so what if you were right? Does that make it the right thing to say? Perhaps if you’d thought about it, you wouldn’t have dented their confidence, you wouldn’t have shattered their aspirations, and you wouldn’t have installed that seed of doubt that’s grown and grown in their minds, until they concluded that there was no chance of a career whilst sounding like they pissed the sheets every single night listening to Gene?
And what’s more, perhaps if you’d thought before you criticised, THEY WOULDN’T HAVE COME BACK WITH THIS MID EIGHTIES JOHN HUGHES TEARS FOR FEARS SHIT.

Bollocks. This single is a great, sweet, understated masterpiece. It sounds absolutely NOTHING like Geneva (just cos the guy sings falsetto, that's a ridiculously lazy comparison). If anything it sounds like The La's, who were genius. "Bland 90s indie" like Shed 7 or whatever was turgid and tuneless. This is not. Aren't you bored with all this NME indie-hating bullshit yet?-

I dont think they sound that much like Geneva, and I dont care if they do.. I REALLY love this single!
It's not ground-breaking and they're not this weeks "Saviours Of Music"(c) ..but it is a GOOD SONG!! What else matters?

It's a fucking great tune... fuck everything else because, in the end, it doesn't matter.
I think Franz Ferdinand look like a bunch of twats and hate their 'artfulness' and 80'sness but that doesn't make 'Take me out' a crap song because it isn't.
Long Time Coming is a great fucking tune. Sounds like Doves+The Music...what's so wrong with that? -

This band is great, yes they sound just like Geneva, but Geneva are no longer around and Amityville haven't put anything out yet! But it isn't as good as Keane. -

I heard them play live on the radio and this is my least favourite song of theirs. And it's still good! every other song was great - don't underestimate them -

I really like it. And now I've heard the album, I'm going to buy it. There are no major "leap out and kick you in the balls" moments, but it's shimmery, glimmery, summery, kickabout in the park on a June afternoon music. Great.
