The queen of all that is kitsch and glitter related, Helen Love, is back after what seems like an age with a free download-only single. Fans, let me assure you: time has not mellowed her in any way!

'Debbie Loves Joey' carries on where her last album, ''Love & Glitter...', left off. It's all rhythmic hand claps, less chords than you have fingers on a hand and drum machine beats, yet 'Debbie Loves Joey' is still as catchy as any band you could name with the added bonus of what I think is a Hammond organ and instantly memorable lyrics (including a nod, lyrically, to The Stranglers, albeit dumbed down).

This is a feel-good song for those of us who miss bands such as BiS, Gel and Kenickie, and the perfect antidote to the morose and glum. Come on, let some Love into your life!

Download it now from the Helen Love website.

Helen Love - Debbie Loves Joey

Helen Love.

Helen Love?

HELEN LOVE!!!!

I have just chortled audibly.

Surely she can't still be making records on her Fisher Price tape recorder with a variety of Bontempi keyboards and really crap guitars?

How has she not died a glitterstrewn death?

Perplexing.

Great band, great single and it's free on their website.
I miss gel and kenickie too. Any news from the band that was supposed to come from the ashes of the Sunset Sound ?
