ONE IS NOT AMUSED.
The godlike genius of David Bowie has pulled out of all festival appearences/pop concerts in July - that includes T In The Park - "due to the continuing pain and extreme discomfort from a trapped/pinched nerve in his shoulder," according to a statement issued today.
The Libertines, however, are still on for the festival and other planned gigs... but without Pete Doherty. The band told NME: "Peter's erratic mental state worries us greatly and having him on tour would only compound his problems. We aim to complete all existing tour commitments without him."
How fun.

and so the TITP curse strikes once again, Bowie and possibly Muse this year, White Stripes the year before. Fingers crossed the Pixies make it in one piece

Don't you just love a "tortured geni...cough...anker". I wish it was possible to write that properly in text. I don't believe this "Pete Doherty" guy even exists - its obvious he was staged by the CIA.
In any case, the Libertines sound like they've been up Boris Becker's arse at least twice, so I'm sure the loss of their cheeky frontman won't make much difference. Also, I find David Bowie sounds a lot better when you're not listening to him.

Saw the Libertines a few times now - Twice with Pete and they were awful the first time (when they played udner a different name at their first gig out of London) and then again and they were even worse. On record they're not bad but I wasn't looking forward to seeing them at last years midsummer madness gig. They were without Pete but they were excellent. I guess being on the same bill as the Basement would make anyone look good though!

Is was gonna go but hadn't got the money, so glad I'm not now, would of only gone for Muse and Bowie and maybe Ash but the darkness no way, they'd never be as good

Thank you.I thought being helpful and interested in music wasn't part of this site anymore.Thought it was just about insulting other people or their taste in music.And posting or sympathising with far right ideologies.
