The San Francisco emo-pioneers remain for those in the know, a hushed and protected secret. Since they split in 1995 after their seventh critically acclaimed album 'San Francisco', writer and frontman Mark Eitzel, has continued a solo life with a number of daring and incisive albums to his name, including 'West',a collaborative effort with REM's Peter Buck. Here's a more detailed appraisal of what makes AMC tick.

I don't understand why The pixies were mentioned in the heading of the main article anyways. Totally different styles of music and Pixies were far more influecial than AMC could ever be.
All the best to their re-form anyways. It's difficult for bands to make money in the music business these days. beast of luck

I love the Pixies but AMC are far more important to those of us who have fallen under their spell.

I am excited about Amc & Pixies reuions, diffrence is tho, i will travel accross the country to see amc. But i can wait till pixies do manchester or somewhere near by.
I always have liked the pixies & yeah you cant comapre the two bands at all. Though both bands blew me away(amc a hell of a lot more) But if you compare material after the bands split
Mark has gone on to do better solo albums than frank has. I got a frank black solo album"dog in the sand" i gave it one listen & 60 watt silver lining i have listend to hundreds of times. Maybe this time around Mark & amc will get the break they deserve, they bloody deserve it!!!
