its whoever could be bothered to vote
if you listen to the show, he makes a disclaimer and says that anybody who tries to rig it is wasting their time, cos noone gives a fuck who wins anyway.

Er, yes, but (correct me if I'm wrong) the list is made up of records played on his show. And he picks the records that are played on his show. If he hadn't played those 50 records they wouldn't be in the list, therefore John Peel's taste *does* have a lot to do with it.

no it isnt
its publicised mainly on his show
so its mainly voted for by people who listen to his show
but not entirely
youll find no freaky world music on the list and only a couple of dnb tunes
tunes can get on to it without being played as far as i know

OK, fair enough but the taste of Peel and the taste of the people who voted are obviously linked and there can't have been many records on there that he hasn't played. So, stuff...
