Guns N' Roses N' Hammersmith Apollo
Guns N' Roses have announced an exclusive one-off show on Wednesday 7th June as warm-up to their headline appearance at Download Festival.
First appearing at the venue almost 19 years ago on 8th October 1987 on the Appetite For Destruction tour, this gig will undoubtedly bring back some fond memories from some ageing rockers and will create some average memories for some younger ones. This is their first show indoors since playing at the cavernous hellhole that is/was London Arena, in 2002. Hooraaay!
OC sellout metallers, Avenged Sevenfold are supporting. Stupidly-named singer, M Shadows once said that Use Your Illusion is his favourite album. Ever. I don't believe a single word to emerge from that horrible fat mess of a tattoo. I think he actually only said he likes GN'R because it looks as 'cool' as the matching tattoos he and his band share. How gay?
I, however, am going to go to watch Deftones at the Scala that evening with hairy DiS editor, Colin Roberts. We know where the good shit is. We're going to get drunk and maybe shed a tear of fear if Chino Moreno's trousers fall off his massive arse.
Also: Look out for a special Download Festival preview at some point before the amazingly brilliant celebration of all things metal (and some things emo) begins.
