Tunbridge Wells-based post-punkers of no little excellence Jason And The Astronauts are to essentially call time on musical pursuits, at least in their current guise.
The band play their last-ever show as JatA at Tunbridge Wells Forum on April 29, supporting Forward Russia. A MySpace bulletin from the band reads:
"We are working on something new. We don't really know ourselves yet what is going on, but when we do, it will be posted here."
DiS pressed for more information, and Astronaut Ed happily provided us with just that:
"The current plan is to record an 'albums' worth and then get some mates in to help play it live. Same members. Just been gigging the same shit for about two years now and it's got really boring. (We're) dropping all the old stuff entirely and (getting) a new name, so all it is, is a new direction. We don't really know ourselves at the moment."
So there you have it. Tickets for the Forum show can be booked here.
