The Cooper Temple Clause to headline intimate DiS Great Escape show

We are most definitely excited to announce The Cooper Temple Clause as our special guests for our stage at The Great Escape

Well, in our initial announcement, we promised you very special guest headliners and at DiS today we are insanely proud to announce that our stage at this year's Great Escape festival in Brighton will be headlined by The Cooper Temple Clause.

Having just finished the recording of their third studio album and after extensive US touring with The Cure amongst others, Team Cooper will make a very special appearance at the 400 capacity Zap Club on Friday 19th May.

DiS spoke to drummer Jon Harper today who exclaimed that, "we're really excited to start our UK tour in the lovely surroundings of Brighton. The songs sound fresh and we can't wait to get on the road and play them to everyone."

The bill for the Drowned in Sound stage now runs as follows:
THE COOPER TEMPLE CLAUSE
Howling Bells
Komakino
Les Incompetents
Jeniferever

The event takes place between 18th-20th May across 14 venues in Brighton, 3-day wristbands are quite literally a steal at £35 and you can get them now from www.escapegreat.com, where extensive line-up and venue details can also be found.

DiScuss: Result! See you there? What else are you looking forward to across the weekend, or are you sodding off to ATP?

Hmmm

Good line up that. Beats a lot of the mainstage Reading/Leeds ones actually...

That is a great line up.

Very cool...

Is the DiS stage only on the Friday?

quality line up

would love to see jeniferever/les incompetents live.

yup!

Bugger. My prom's gonna take priority then. Bugger.

nice

username.

I'm sodding of to ATP

off even

colin forgot to add

that komakino are also playing..

ace..

..to see jeniferever on the bill. awesome live band.

.

what happened to Bloc Party ?!

ah....

The Cooper Temple Clause! They remind me of those crazy days in 2001/early 2002 where I thought that all these new british bands were gonna take over, but as ever, they all seemed to fade out. I caught The Coopers down in Brighton 4 years ago and they were really good live

Can you

MAKE them play 'who needs enemies'?

Super lineup

Perhaps even worth the pilgrimage from Sheffield...

ATPATPATPATP

ATPATPATPATPATPATPATP..

no wait, now it just looks like PAT PAT PAT.

MY GOD.

I can't waaaaait.

how does this work?

Can you get in to one off shows or do you have to have a wristband? Cos I'm going to ATP but will be around on the thursday and will probably want to catch a couple of bands.

Also - you cant have Jeniferever on first surely?! They'll just make the other bands sound silly. They're pretty well followed in Brighton, unlike (I would imagine) the other three supports. Just a heads up.

word on the street is...

jeniferever are w*nkers.

friend of mine supoorted them in Cambridge and they basically bankrupted a promoter and reduced him to tears...

:|

bit of a silly promoter then

surely?

I've

seen them three times now, and the first two times (Supporting Muse, then in Leeds Fest Carling tent)they were brilliant, but last year at Leeds Fest they bored me senseless. They just didn't seem to have any enthusiasm or energy.

Lets hope they get back to their Panzer-Attacking best :D

HOLY SHIT.

and i can't go. BOLLOCKS.
