Back in Black, in Black: Francis does double CD

Frank Black is to release a double-disc album this June, entitled Fastman/Raiderman, through Cooking Vinyl.

The product of two years' recording with Jon Tiven in Nashville and LA, the 27-track album is a worthy successor to 2005's well-received Honeycomb. The record features celebrated contributors, including Levon Helm (The Band), Tom Petersson (Cheap Trick) and Al Kooper.

Black had the following to say on his current co-workers:

“On Honeycomb I was walking on eggshells. These guys are still legends, but now that we’d hung around a bit, I was more at ease.”

The album is released on June 19th.

hope

thisis good, honeycomb is an ace album and frank black is a fucking god, although the title made me think of a frank black cover album of back in black by ac dc, that would be something!!!

i've always been kinda unenthused by his solo work

some are great and the catholics are really tight but they aint the pixies.

But i shall buy it. I used to work for cooking vynil. woot

.

I think some of Frank's solo work surpasses the Pixies now and then. 'Frank Black' was an excellent sequel to Trompe Le Monde, and most of the songs from 'Teenager of the Year' are incredibly good pop ditties/monstrosities.

I'm looking forward to FM/RM. Yesss.

hair or lack there of

don't ya love the fact that they used a piture when he had hair?
