Paddingtons raise anchor, a la Sex Pistols

Hull-based oiks The Paddingtons play a not-so-secret boat party on the Thames next week (March 9th).
The event's intended as some kind of tribute to the Sex Pistols, who performed in a similar fashion back in 1977, belting out 'God Save The Queen' from a boat on London's famous river. The diffference, of course, is that it's no longer 1977 and The Paddingtons' hyperactive but compositionally tired punk is, well, a little boring by today's standards. But, whatever floats your boat (see what we did there?).The departure point is something of a secret - we don't know, put it that way - and the band will be joined by a good few DJs for the party. An unsigned band will also appear, as a direct result of Crossfire's Rockit Launcher campaign - click here for details.

haven't they been dropped yet?
yawn. maybe they're the unsigned band?
Swindle-tastic?
Everything's a bit dodgy isn't it? A weak faux-punk Libertines immmitation, playing a parody of a thirty year old historic punk moment a year early which is sponsored by an energy drink.
Then the support band may well be drugdeealercheerleader who claim on the energy drink website "DrugdealerCheerleader don’t care about what the trendy set perceive as cliché. They wear make-up, say “motherfucker, have loud distorted guitars, pogo on stage and simply rock" which is weird because I remember them being a complete Darkness/Tokyo Dragons rip off and before that a metal band when that was cool. In fact on their website you can still see their promo pics from 2002 where they all have long hair, tight sleeveless shirts and camo combats. But, they quite clearly don't care about the trendy kids or looking cool... *cough*
this is all true
but it still sounds like it would be great fun to go to.
It's hardly original
Bugfly, The Favours and others all did the same last summer. And they are better bands than the fucking Shattingtons.
Bunch of
wanchors. Har har...
Yeh, but..
I bet they have to wear life jackets thanks to health and saftey changes. Which isn't gonna go well with their Dior Homme gear.
It sickens me
That any of those dreadful skunkpunk 'Londons Burning' scenester bands are still going. Or was it the 'New Cross' scene that spat them out? Ack
i like them
controversial, but i think paddingtons do their unoriginal brand of punk pop extremely well. am a big fan of the album, and they rock live.
I like them.
