Give It A Name 2006 announced. Pray they don't balls it up again...
The Give It A Name is to return in 2006. What's more, it's going to be expanded to two days of rocking good times. Well, at least we're hoping good times...
It's no secret that last year's single-day event at Alexandra Palace, reviewed here, was a disaster, an organisational joke that left a good few hundred kids dehydrated and miserable. This year the event not only spreads its weight over two days, but also incorporates a Manchester leg at the MEN Arena. The London leg is to be held at Earls Court. Details below.

Wow...
Even more emo-tastic than last year...
Compared to last...
years line up, I'm quite frankly disappointed, still going to try and make it to the 2nd date though, for Atreyu and Thrice.
Last year was reasonably good with the exception of Finch being a ridiculous anti climax. I love that band, and they let me down big time. Oh that, and the fact I nearly passed out.
Cough...
sorry 1st date. the two seem to have switched.
crumbs
i can feel the hair, the belts, the jeans, the pouts, the piercings, the ironic t-shirts, see you there!
Yeah, sorry...
...the press release wasn't clear which day was what so I assumed the first list must be for the first London date. After checking the website it's clear that the above is now correct.
My bad.
Or maybe...
I won't, I've just looked at the rest of the line-up.
Last years line up was generally good though. Coheed, Finch and Alexisonfire among the bands.
Lostprophets...
The Ataris.....GOLDFINGER...yeesh
Out of those 21 bands i'd say not one was an emo band.
Angels and Airwaves is Blink 182 dudes new band is it not?
emo=
Whiny teenage bollocks about getting dumped.
How are so many kids exactly the same ALL gonna sit in one corner tryna look tortured till some scene girl lets them touch her 'dirty'?
Sometimes
I think about stopping listening to music alltogether
the ataris
are the only band i'd really care about seeing on the entire bill, especially to see what their new line-up and sound is like
..
Pfft. Would be nice if there were some more UK bands. Whatever. Enjoy yourself you black teeshirt (oh i got it in the kid's girls section, that's more scene, right?) wearing, pierced lip, At the Drive In wannabes.
goldfinger?
Only good if they play 1st album, hang ups, and thats it.....oh and Rio. Men Women and Children? Aren't they that band that features soem guy out of Glassjaw?
*some
not Darryl, I think its the guitarist.
Interesting
This might be worth seeing.
Even if just for:
My Chemical Romance (pictured)
The Ataris
Atreyu
Thrice
(and i quite like Say Anything...)
Yeah...
Darryls in Head Automatica, if they were playing I'd go for sure. They cancelled on me when I was meant to be seeing them last, Darryl's got Chrones Disease. Such a pity.
cheers mat, i just scared my dog by laughing so loud
name dropping fool. :)
i do agree about the lack of british bands, who would you want to put on the line up?
if youre looking for british bands then check out the first band on the 'prophets day: The Blackout. good quality band from s.wales. theres nothing on the GIAN site but as with all bands these days theyre on MyS: www.myspace.com/theblackout
but one of the members
mike (from the filaments) is from essex
red stars parade and profane are teh sex
Twin Zero aint bad either.
have you checked out Sika Redem before you cunt?

good to see you have an opinion.
the wrong one, but an opinion all the same :P
should be a good day tho, as long as the venues are up to it.
Surely...
...all the kids that were left miserable were already pretending to be miserable, as they're all little Myspace kids who act tortured for attention?
I'd go for Aiden. That band make me LOLZ hard. Very, very hard. They're like a Victory Records Goldie Lookin' Chain. Except deadly serious.
ha ha
The Blackout are great. Unbelievably generic and rubbish, but at the same time almost good. They were rather entertaining when I saw them live lol
by the time...
GIAN returns, 14 year olds will be 15 and start realising they look like idiots.
ska revival is what we need, yeaaaaah.
AAAAHHHH
WHERE ARE MY STAIGHTENERS AND SWEATBANDS??? WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!!!
