Pop sisters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson have made the news today for very different reasons.
Butter-wouldn't-melt (or would it?) star Jessica (pictured), her of Newlyweds television fame, has filed for divorce from her husband Nick Lachey. "Irreconcilable differences" is the reason given for their three-year marriage hitting the skids.
Nick, formerly of the boyband 98 Degrees, married Jessica at a point where he earned the higher income; now, though, his 25-year-old soon-to-be-ex-wife is worth a staggering $54 million. Not bad for someone with no obvious talent.
Turning to rather more serious - maybe, anyway - matters: Jessica's sister, 21-year-old Ashlee, was hospitalised in Tokyo on Friday following a performance for MTV Japan.
Simpson performed her 'Boyfriend' single before collapsing in an elevator. She was taken to hospital by ambulance, and there is, as yet, no word on her exact condition. Forthcoming appearances, though, have been cancelled.
