how

simon amstell of you.

Sorry to sound bitter or cynical but...

a) None of those bands are ungsinged, many were signed WELL before this years ITC

b) I don't recall them playing any of the unsigned ITC events either....

dfdfh

65days aren't signed officially, they release their albums on a per-record basis. Komakino are unsigned, Apartment are unsigned, Emmy is only just signed, Drive-by Argument only have a single deal and Emmy definitely played an ITC unsigned event.

It does deliberately state 'Unsigned' AND 'Artist Rising' though.

So erm, yeah, you're wrong.

ahhh, ok

...but looking now I believe I said none of them are "ungsinged" and am therefor technically correct as that is not a word so they cannot be it...

so there :)

However

Perhaps my bugbear is that this should in all fairness be held in Manchester anyway..

well

sunshine underground and drive by argument definitely both played the official itc unsigned showcases.

i think all the ones playing in the main academy did either dry bar or night & day 'fringe' events by glasswerk and fandango/dis/xfm.

Why?

It's for the people who couldn't get to Manchester and the industry who want another look before they commit themselves.

If you're upset about it, why didn't you just go to the shows in Manchester during ITC?

Erm...

I saw most of em at ITC, thats not why I'm peeved.

Your first sentence there just about sums up why I am tho man.

I don't understand

Sums what up.

Listen -

I could start ranting about how unbalanced between north and south the music industry is these days at this point, but frankly Crablin there is no point cos its not like you or anyone here is to blame for that is it?

peace out

Ed

has anyone notivced

how angry colin seems to be these days?

new site seems to have signaled some newly found vitriol from the young scamp.

Hmmmm

You know what man, I think you're right. I'd like to honestly apologise.

I've become a stickler for accuracy and I think it's a reflection of my own personal issues right now, rather than how I feel towards anyone on this site.

I intend to amend.

Who cares who's signed or not signed or when they were signed?

It's basically just an excuse for a really good gig, innit? And for someone like myself who couldn't afford to get to Manchester for ITC, it's a good chance to see bands I've heard loads about all at once. Anyway, surely ITC is proof that the industry isn't completely Londoncentric? Coming from Suffolk, I've never felt the urge to pretend to be from London to add any kind of cool factor to me or my band. Who gives a fuck where music comes from? It's either good or it ain't.

Particularly looking forward to seeing Emmy The Great, even if she apparently thinks I'm a weirdo. Ah well.

No worries fella -

Your doing an ace job with the site man,
am that was a very grumpy end of the day rant from me too.

Even so, I won't be entering that comp,

:)

nearly

Almost right Crablin but Drive By Argument signed to a major label (possibly a Sony susiduary)a few months back.

Thank you

I still shouldn't have snapped though.

So if we're all good... Let's party!

lol

no i played in the city unsigned, because i'm still unsigned technically and i love crablin even though he is a stickler for detail. after all he's an editor. that's the whole point.

Check your info

I manage Drive-By Argument. Please check your information with a 1st hand source in the future. They are unsigned. We released a one-off ltd ed single through One Records. They were committed to One when we played Manchester, but a one-off implies that they are of interest to other labels. When we played Islington Bar Academy on Thursday they were unsigned.

If you need information in the future, contact me.

Thanks.
